I may be wrong but whilst Knopfler was cetainly a very early user of Pensa Suhr I think John Suhr had made a few custom guitars before one was given to Knopfler. Regardless hey are stil lovely guitars.

I'd rather have one of John Suhr's latest creations, whilst they may not be made completely by his hand, I have a feeling that he has made improvements over the years in terms of quality and playability
