I recommend that you isolate each part and work on them as loops. Then you can also create an extra exercise that combine the last measure of the arpeggio with the first measure of the strumming.
So you would have 3 exercises: 1. Arpeggio section 2. Strumming section 3. Arpeggio/Strumming connection Enjoy your vacation mate! -------------------- My lessons

Hi Alex! Welcome back mate!! I hope that you enjoyed your vacation.
Thanks for the update and the picture. Your hand positioning looks ok, but I would recommend trying to put your thumb more in a centered position in relation to the other fingers. This post has been edited by Gabriel Leopardi: Aug 2 2021, 02:37 PM -------------------- My lessons

Hi Alex! How are you?
Nice to know that you enjoyed your journey! I play the Part 1 and Part 2 of the Goo Goo Dolls at 80 BPM. I think the transition between the Strumming and arpeggio is quite good now. Yes! The transition is good! Well done!! And you are also playing the arpeggio section very well. On the other hand, the strumming section is not sounding tight. As it happened before, you have timing issues when playing over hi-hat or metronome. As this is a complex meter, it's reasonable that you experience some timing issues. Work on it! Also a take for the Acoustic Solo at 75 bpm Nice! The first half is not sounding tight so it needs some special attention. Then, the second half sounds very good. I think that you need to continue practicing this section focusing on timing. The rhythm sounds right, but the timing is not tight. Keep of the good work as always! -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate!! That sounds great. Remember to tap with your foot, or move your head with the groove in order to keep your timing tight.

Hi Alex, how are you?
Great job!! Both takes sound very good. Your playing is tight, and they have the right feel and dynamics. I think that you can move forward with this lesson. Regarding the 'tap with your foot' thing, I don't think that it's a problem to go with the kick and snare when the drums start. You are following the stronger beats of the 6/8 meter so it really makes sense. If you want to get used to follow the hi hats, the only thing that you can do is to slow down until you can think on both things at the same time, and practice for a while. After some practice it will become natural and you'll be able to do it. -------------------- My lessons

Thanks I will start with part 3 then. Perfect! Interesting, I will experiment a bit with this and see. I thought it would be easier to play tight if I tapped my foot with the hi hats actually, because then my foot would tap more and it would be easier to follow and be consistent. I will also try and see how it would work if I would follow the stronger beats of the 6/8 meter for the strumming section as well. I don't think that tapping very fast is necessary. You can count internally but tap with your foot as you are already doing. -------------------- My lessons

Hi mate! how are you feeling? It's great to see that you are getting close with this one!
This sounds good. There are some parts where your timing is not precise, but these parts happen when you have the trickier chord changes so it's just a matter of time. You already can play the right hand pattern, you just need to get more familiar with the chords used. Please continue practicing the changes before increasing tempo. Once you feel comfortable at this tempo, work at a faster one. -------------------- My lessons
