I'm fascinated with all things paranormal - in particular ghosts, Near Death Experiences and Out of Body Experiences.

And how consciousness and perception create reality subjectively.

keep finding out we have wads in common bro!!! smile.gif I love that kinda thing as well and I"ve had TWO near death Experiences from nearly getting killed in two major vehicle accidents which is what sparked my initial interest.

bodybuilding and MMA. Although these last few years its been guitar that has taken up 90% of my freetime, I still like lifting heavy things and putting them back down again cool.gif
Also, like Todd and Spock both mentioned, anything that is weird, spooky and generally freaky always has me interested.

Like Bleez Bodybuilding, both the wife and I enjoy that one. We were at the National Irish Bodybuilding show this weekend.

I knew you hit the gym regularly but didn't realise you and the wife were into body building. Interesting. What's it like, going to a live show ?

To be honest live shows get pretty monotonous, men of different weight categories in tiny speedos doing the same poses and then posing to music, the fun we had was judging them and choosing our own top 3 and seeing if we agreed with the judges which most of the time we were spot on! A bonus was someone we know from the gyms around Galway was competing and so we were able to support and cheer him on, and see him get 1st place.

It was good to see how I measure up to the over 40s category and my weight category. With a little more effort I could probably place in the over 40s next year if I wanted to. My wife has made it her goal to compete, so I may just support her with her goal, 2 people dieting down to low bodyfat my end in divorce!!!!!!

I'm not completely into bodybuilding per se but the other forums I'm on other than guitar forums are bodybuilding forums so I've learnt a lot over the years and become used to the talk and environment. We have the 2012 NABBA Mr Ireland at our gym too, my wife might be having him train her soon. I really am just vain and want to look better than 80% of guys my age! so I prefer the fitness model look (the more muscley end of it) than the huge bodybuilder look.

I used to go to some of the shows as well. Agree with PB, really can a bit slow unless you know some of the guys. Its cool when someone from your gym competes or if there is a big name guest posing.
Its an odd sport to say the least smile.gif Its very different when you are in the 'bodybuilding scene' so to speak, it doesnt seem quite as bizarre cool.gif
