> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey buddy!

We have discussed this one long and hard in your mentoring thread, so I am here to grade and mention the fact that your touch is a bit different than mine, but not necessarily in a bad way - you tend to play a bit more percussive than I do, whilst I tried to make the notes sound more fluid. Let's see what the guys have to say as well wink.gif

All the best and keep up the good work!

Hi friend, good job with this fantastic lesson by the master Cosmin. smile.gif

It's not easy to play all those intervals combinations tight and clean and I think that you are very close to master it. Everything sounds clean, clear and with the correct timing. The next thing to adjust is the sound of each note. Most of the notes sounds weak, a bit muted, or too short. This makes your playing sound cut and less smooth. You should try to make each note last until the following note sounds, in order to make your playing sound fluently and dynamic.

How to do it? Turn on metronome, or use a slow backing and concentrate on the duration of each note, try to make is last the more possible to avoid the silences between each one. Practice for some time at slower tempos and then increase it progressively until you can reach the normal tempo but with a smoother playing.

Hey man, this is good stuff.

As Cosmin said, it does sound more percussive and less fluid than his version as you tend to cut the notes very short but I think this is due more to lack of experience / dexterity in this area.

As Gabriel mentions, try to let the nots hang on for their full duration before moving to the next one. This lesson involves having to use fingers to occasionally barre 2 strings due to the intervals between the notes. On these occasions make sure that your finger is properly covering the necessary notes otherwise you get that muffled 'half sounding' effect like at 0:13 and some other areas.

Overall though, strong take !
