So I took a trip to my local Guitar Center with my honey, and long story short she got me my birthday present a little early!

It's an Epiphone 1966 Series G400 Pro. I played an SG about a year ago and have wanted one ever since. I love the neck profile and the access to the higher frets is killer!

Wilkinson tuners with knobs that match the body color (they are holding up after some bending abuse but if they give me any problems they'll be an easy swap - I have spare locking and Grover tuners out the tookus!)

The pickups surprised me, slightly over wound for some nice hot bite (coil split as an added bonus).

It was $349.99 USD but they price matched it down to $299.00 and I work in retail so I haggled them down to $289.00!!
The strings were pretty old and I hate .10s - I've always been a .09s guy so they knocked a few bucks off for strings biggrin.gif

After I saw Mith's thread on Elixir prices I decided to try Elixirs out and I'll never go back! Not only do they obviously last longer but I love the ultra smooth feel to them! Thanks Mith!

I'll be a birthday boy any day! cool.gif

Congrats on the new guitar Chris! smile.gif It is really cool that they gave you such a big discount on it. I like the finish, it is a bit unusual color which makes the guitar more unique. How are you adjusting to it?

Congratulations biggrin.gif Silver Beauty tongue.gif

Play with emotion. Playing with all technique and no emotion makes you boring. And most importantly, Make faces while bending.
