Very rock n roll!I would be curious to see you have a go at the original lesson What I would like to suggest, would be to focus on the articulation elements a bit - the bending is slightly under pitch and it can be felt in a few places. Hi Gill! Thanks for this video!
This video shows that you have a good timing but that you have to polish a bit your technique starting with bending, vibrato and making fast legato playing sound clean. I can't comment about your alternate picking technique but I would work on it as well. Based on this video, I recommend you to start with a diary routine that covers this topics: Warming up (10 minutes) Alternate Picking (20 minutes) Bending & Vibrato (20 minutes) Legato (20 minutes) Rhythm (20 minutes) I can help you to fill these topics with cool GMC lessons, and you can suggest some as well but at first I would like to know if you think that you'll be able to play that amount of time every day. -------------------- My lessons

Hey Gill, I am late to the party but wow that is an awesome guitar collection!
I bought my first Less Paul style guitar last year (reviewed here) and I must say it keeps 'growing' on me. With the sustain it gives me I can do vocal sounding stuff that would be impossible with a strat type of sound. Welcome to the GMC family!

I think this sounds very good for 3 days practicing. My suggestion would be to structure your practice sessions so that you focus separately on rhythm and lead part. Rhythm part feedback : - This section is almost there. What I'm noticing though is that you are playing slightly ahead of the beat while the lesson has a laid back rhythm. Laid back rhythm means playing slightly behind the beat (click of the metronome), try being slightly "late" on purpose. - Pay attention to details like where instructor is using slight palm muting to get a better definition of rhythm and experiment with getting cleaner "strikes" on the strings when riffing as faster strumms are a bit lost here and there Lead part feedback : - I think you should focus on this part separately and go through it lick by lick. In the lick 0:31-0:34 you are missing vibrato on every "long" note. Adding vibrato there will make the section sound good. Lick at 0:34-0:38 is a bit tricky to play. Focus points should be a big bend at the beginning of it (hitting correct pitch) and adding vibrato to bent string. Rest of the lick is almost there but you need to playing a bit more tight in timing and add vibrato to "longer" notes. Examine the video of the instructor playing the lesson to see where he adds the vibrato. It is usually on the last note in a bar. Lick at 0:39-0:43 - the beginning of this lick is played with "staccato" notes. These are short, detached notes. You play them by picking a string and then releasing the pressure on the fret to "cut" the note short. Pay close attention to the timing of this staccato lick as its a bit different than how you played it. The lick which goes after that one is a bending one. Try to make the bend smoother and you need to bend the string a little bit more to hit the correct pitch. Also, it is important how you bring the bend back down to make it smooth sounding try not to rush it. Last note on the 12th fret needs a bit more vibrato to help you keep sustain of the note. Ending part 0:45-1:00 - I would leave out this part and practice it only after you have mastered the previous ones. It uses same techniques and I would suggest focusing on bending pitch and releasing bends smoothly as well as timing and getting notes to sound "legato". How to tackle this one: - Isolate and practice it lick by lick until you feel comfortable. Then try looping the instructor section where the lick is played and play along to match the vibe. You could also benefit from playing these licks along with the metronome. I think the lead section is problematic, rhythm one should be easy to fix.
