Hi Mihai! I've been improvising over this amazing backing and I have an idea recorded. I can say that it's a killer backing to improvise however I think that there is something tricky in the turnaround section, when you have that chromatic movement of chords. I mostly trusted in my ears when this section happens and I used some chromatic notes that aren't on A minor scale but that sounded good over this section.

What do you think?

It seems that your ears are a trustworthy musical tool. Cool following the harmony in that (pretty [email protected]&ed up) chord progression.

Great lines Gabi! biggrin.gif I'll see what I can cook up next week as well! I think that a Guthrie inspired chromatic lick could work well over the turnaround and maybee with a a few targetted notes? smile.gif That's what I'll try, at least laugh.gif

I had a lot of fun with Mihai’s backing, and I also discovered you've written many killer tracks in lots of different genres. I am exploring them in this very moment, check them out.

Here is my take:

Great tone and phrasing mate - loved the way it builds up!

Cool Gab, you probably know I am great fan of that staccato/rhythmic type of phrasing in the beginning - and it's cool to hear you do it! Personally I would also want to hear a more dynamic and a bit cleaner tone, and maybe some more pauses and unpredictability. On the other hand this is what I was going for, and if we were all attempting to play the same kind of stuff music would quickly get boring..!

Sounds great Cosmin! I would really like to hear your approach to this backing. smile.gif

Hi Kris! Thanks for this inspiring feedback. I think that it's a great idea to use a cleaner sound for this one, and it will give more place for working on dynamics. I'll go deeper with this one and share a new take later today or tomorrow. Thanks again for inspiration. smile.gif

Just a fast "something", maybe useful for your Christmas tracks. I was recording some Christmas track with the brass band I am conducting and while recording some of the percussion I was thinking "why not making some loops out of those?". So here they are, loops at 80 BPM.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6vsfcmrs...Bells_Loops.zip
I dropped them in FL Studio to put automatically the loop markers.
All files stereo wav, 32 bit float, 44.1 KHz. The ones labeled "mono" are out of mono files (recorded with one mic) and the "stereo" are same mono recordings with a Eventide Micro Pitch applied.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing mate. What about the track that you recorded? Any details? When will we hear it?

I hope before Christmas. I have to record a choir and a tuba section, maybe I'll put some guitars up too... don't know yet...
