> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate smile.gif Welcome to the REC Zone!

Ithink that posting here, was by far the best choice in order to showcase your playing and receive the feedback which is necessary for you to move forward with your playing.

This lesson has both articulation elements, such as bending and vibrato as well as alternate picking and legato/tapping inclided, which makes it a pretty complete one.

So, taking things one at a time:

- you are reaching all the pitches when bending
- the vibrato technique look ok as well, but it could be a bit stronger and with more intention behind it
- there are a few spots where there are unwanted noises, so make sure you block the strings which shouldn't be heard - for instance, see minute 0:07 or the tapping passage.
- the alternate picking lick at 0:25 is almost imperceptibly behind the beat - maybe it's just me, but I thought I'd say it.

So, as you may notice, there are details which need fixing, but nothing major - as a player, you will make a great difference if you take these details into account, so I will give you an 8, just because I want to motivate you to get as close to perfection with your playing as possible!

Keep rocking!

Excellent work.

I was most impressed by your accurate bending and timing. Your overall approach was very smooth as well. Due to your comment with your video I was bracing myself for some glaring mistake but it never happened ! smile.gif

You're using some vibrato which is just about enough to stop long notes from sounding dull but it could be worked on more to allow you more room for expression. It's quite narrow and quick as it is. You may want to one day use wider and slower vibrato so it's good to have more options.

Ha ha! Same as Ben....I was listening and trying to spot those "issues" You've prepared us for....but there is not much to fix in fact! smile.gif I will only refer to my comment for previous lesson about the gain. Your hand looks like Your playing really soft and of You stay that way Your might find some problems playing on other types of tone or instrument. It's worth trying a bit less from the amp and a bit more from the hand. Also the vibrato (as Ben said) is a bit to rough for the ballad You play smile.gif Anyway the overall take is really well played smile.gif
