Hello Gab,
Before I answer, did you see THIS post? I don't know if you've heard them before but you may get some inspiration from them somehow A lot of the pain has gone now but movement is still an issue. I can't lift my elbow higher than my shoulder, it will go higher if I push it with my other hand so it isn't a joint issue in the shoulder but, once I remove the helping hand, try as hard as I can it won't stay up, it slowly falls to shoulder height, this is the nerve issue not sending the signals to the deltoid muscles involved in raising the arm. I can't put the palm of my left hand on my right cheek without a lot of effort and my hand is trembling when it gets there, again nerve issues. Anything with my left hand palm facing my body is difficult, not because of pain, it's just so much effort to try, as I said before, and I don't know if you've ever done intense exercise, it feels like your legs feel after a gruelling set of 500lbs squats when they feel like jelly and don't want to work. I was hoping this would improve along with the pain diminishing but it's not happening unfortunately. My entire shoulder girdle and neck is what the professionals call "fucked"  On top of this, you wouldn't believe it but I've gone and pulled the upper trapezius muscle on the other side of my neck today, I'm already working on that though, should be sorted in a day or two, I'm quite experienced with neck and shoulder injuries   So in answer to your question about my practise, I'm doing my best at the moment buddy, it's difficult and I'm not sure if I'm even maintaining the level I was at, I'm also hoping I don't develop any bad habits by playing in an unusual way to compensate. Is everything okay with you and the current situation? Oh! I see mate. It seems that your upped body needs some care and attention. I hope that you continue evolving in the right direction with this.
I'm listening to Sweet while writing here. I've never heard them. I feel that influenced many bands! Is it possible that they influenced Queen? or is it the opposite? I can also notice that this band is very influenced by them. Wait! That song "Action"... I've heard it many times, but maybe played by another band.. I think that it was Def Leppard and let me say that I didn't know it was a cover... The third song makes me think on Poison (80's glam metal band). It's not what I would listen nowadays but it's a great band! Is everything okay with you and the current situation? Yes, luckily all my family and friends are healthy. My neck is a lot better now, I'll post a video of the SRV lesson soon so you can see what effect it has had. In the football terraces "Wig Wam Bam we hate the blues (insert team of choice) fans, wam bam bam gonna smack you we I can". This was in the more violent days when fans would fight a lot.

I think the song in the Detroit Rock City film was Wig Wam Bam. In the 70's and 80's plus the decades either side of those but they were the worst times, there was a lot of violence at English football matches and even violent organised clashes between opposing fans. Many songs were modified to sing in the football grounds to the fans of the team that supported the team playing against your team. So as with the Wig Wam Bam song, if my team, Wolverhampton Wanderers were playing Birmingham City (known as the Blues because their strip was blue), the Wolves (Wolverhampton Wanderers) fans would sing "Wig Wam Bam we hate the blues fans, wam bam bam gonna smack you if we can" or ""Wig Wam Bam we hate the blues fans, wam bam bam gonna Kick you if we can", sometimes other team's fans would exchange the £smack" or "kick" to "kill" depending on the hatred for the other team. Another common one was the chorus to Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks (video below). If my team were playing Aston Villa the Wolves supporters would sing, "We had joy we had fun we had Villa on the run, but the fun didn't last 'cos the bast**ds ran too fast", sometimes the Villa fans would sing it back obviously substituting "Villa" for "Wolves" adding a syllable to make the tune. https://youtu.be/bWdQbxNEFEs It probably happened in Argentina if you asked your dad about it. I never got involved in the fighting, I never saw the sense in it. More modern times songs are about how poor the opposing teams are but, if you click HERE and look at number 34 (they're in reverse order) you can see that there is some of the violent overspill from those sad days with some of the lyrics beneath the video. Well I'm sure it happens in Argentina too, I don't know if the 70's 80's violence happened there but the songs probably did. I hope you found that in some way interesting, as I said, I don't condone the violence bu the cheesiness of the songs makes me smile sometimes. If one was at a game and the other team's fans started singing about stanley knives etc, it was a bit worrying when you were leaving the ground  Hopefully I'll get a video of the SRV lesson to you at the weekend buddy, obviously I've gone back a little bit but maybe you can give me some advice. That's interesting!! Violence is still happening here, and I think that it has become worst in the last 20 years until we reached to a point in which it has become impossible to let visitor team fans go to the stadium. You'll think... oh, this argentinians are animals! and the answer is yes!
It's sad to know that some people can't understand that this is just a game. One of the shameful things has been that the last libertadores cup (like uefa euro cup but in America) final was Boca (my team) vs River. These are the most popular teams here. AS it was imposible to be played here (two post poned matches because of violence), the match was played in Spain! Even without visitors fans, the local fans (River) attacked Boca's players bus... that's so shameful! And yes, people sings popular songs with altered lyrics here too. -------------------- My lessons

I've never understood fans heating other fans. Crazy. I've bought a traction device for my neck, it came today, fingers crossed  Cheers Stay safe Phil UPDATE: I was going to get a video to you this weekend but there's no point, I still can't vibrato on more than one string, the only thing is I think I'm more relaxed playing the SRV lesson. It's very difficult to play it at full speed because sliding down the neck (towards headstock) is hard for me at the moment. I'm starting to worry that I may have to give up all together  I worried that there is some permanent nerve damage, I am 90% pain free now, but any movement where my left palm is facing my body is difficult. Even when my palm is perpendicular to the floor is hard. If I want to put something in a kitchen cupboard with my left hand I have to swing it up to get the inertia, otherwise I can't get it above shoulder height. I not comfortable going into a physiotherapist/osteopath/chiropractor at the moment so we'll have to see what happens.I've discovered the source of the problem. When my company closed for lockdown, I spent a lot of time on a zero gravity chair in the garden. Looking back the issue started not long after lockdown. When I went back to work I was using it after dinner for an hour or so in the evening then we had a spell of weather that wasn't very good, my neck started to get better, 99% movement, then the weather got better and I went back on the chair after dinner, after two days I was back to not having much movement. The I realised. I haven't been on it this week but my movement isn't improving at the moment. It's too much of a coincidence for it not to be that chair. I'm very sensitive to things with my neck/shoulder problem, I always have issues when I go on holiday just because it's a different pillow. Fingers crossed that there isn't permanent nerve damage, at least it's not life threatening. I don't think it's permanent, tonight I managed to wash my hair with both hands which I haven't been able to do for a long time. PMA! I've ordered some of those hybrid strings for my SRV, I don't know why, but I've only just noticed the fretbuzz, I've had it downtuned for a long time now. We'll get there. I'll check that out, I have set up a few guitars before, I usually take it to my friend though, just for ease, he gets it done ready for the next day and charges £15 including strings. He isn't motivated by money, he just loves guitars and helping people. I always make it up to him at the end of the year though, with some Jack Daniels and a bag of his favourite snacks and chocolate I've answered in the neck relief drop tuning thread HERE. Getting better all the time, I still can't do chord vibrato and can only just do single string vibrato but I can pinch my right ear lobe with my left hand with the thumb at the front, now, I couldn't even get it to my nose a couple of weeks ago Moving quickly towards the headstock is still an issue too. I've been working on making my pick attack lighter, I've notice since having the SRV down tuned a whole step that I pick pretty hard, I also hold the pick very tight so I've been working on relaxing that. The down tuning highlighted it for obvious reasons. If you can suggest any blues based lessons without vibrato and not jumping around the neck at speed that you think will help my picking that would be great. I'm still working on the SRV lesson just without vibrato but I can't get it up to speed because I can't move quickly enough when I have to get back to play the chords. Hello Gab,
As I haven't had much recovery progress I had a video consultation today, to get through this final stage of recovery as quickly as possible I have to stop as much movement with my hands supinated (palm turned upwards towards body) as possible. He feels that doing prolonged movements in that position is antagonising the injury and causing much slower recovery. Unfortunately that means no guitar. Hopefully it will only be a few days as I'm 95% recovered but this final 5% is still preventing chord vibrato so I need to get to 100%.. I'll keep you informed.
