I've seen these and they are certainly clever! But It does look a bit wonky with that thing sticking out the back/bottom? I guest it's better than carving up a guitar! Then again, one could use a top mounted KAHLER in a pinch smile.gif

I agree it is a little chunky and spaceship-like, but you don't lose a big bit of wood in the process, and it's only two little wood screw holes left, if you decide to go back to hardtail

Most Kahlers require some routing too, although not completely through the body.

The "TOP MOUNT" kahlers say that they don't require ANY routing, which is handy smile.gif You just screw it on top the guitar and bam!!
It looks a bit better too IMHO, but it does feel different than a floyd.

I didn't know they made a surface mounted one!! I've only ever installed earlier models, like the Spyder, etc!!
Thanks for putting me right Todd!! Those look really nice to me. I always thought that they felt more 'solid' than Floyds, not so 'floaty' if that makes sense.
When I had my Dean endorsement all my guitars had Kahlers on them, not that I ever used them much anyway!!!

Would those Kahlers be restricted to dive only though?
