Hi Jim, I'm lost with this question. I think that you refer to singers vocalizations, they usually repeat a vocal, consonant or a syllable based on what they want to practice, they don't tend to sing the name of the notes. "M" is the most used when warming up.
Is that what you refer? -------------------- My lessons

"M" is the most used when warming up. Is that what you refer? Not really, I'll ask it differently. So the typical " do re me fa sol la ti do," that represents a Major scale. Everybody even non musicians may learn that at a young age. Would the Minor scale be " la ti do re fa sol la?" My point being that the major scale is so easy to remember esp when there is an iconic lyric with it. If u were to construct my own to remember how my voice sounds when singing certain intervals. This might be confusing but in my head it's clear. Sorry If I can't get it out |

ah ok, yeah, I see what you mean. I don't know a way to do it with other scales and modes, I think that the quick solution is avoiding the name of the notes and use a vowel.

Good question.
The syllables change slightly ... Also, different cultures use different. Words/syllables. For example in India it's called Swara - Sa, Re/Ri, Ga, Ma, Pa, Dha/Da, and Ni -------------------- - Ken Lasaine
