Hi Anese! Great to find this video!
There are many positive things to say about your playing for example the good job with bending, the cleanness of your phrasing and with your tone. So I think that this take would pass at the REC section. However, I also think that there is more work to do with this one in order to adjust timing which is a bit irregular, and tend to be before the beat here and there. It's time put all your focus on going better with the groove of the track. It's not an easy work with blues playing since the phrases include many different note values and duration. There is also room to work on dynamics but this should be one after adjusting timing. By the way, you can move forward if you are feeling bored of the lesson. Yes, timing is better on this one! There are just a few moments where you could play with more groove, for example, at 00:12, 00:16 and 00:34, but the overall is much better! There are also some bends that are not perfect (but not bad!) for example the one at 00:24. Congrats on the great job! -------------------- My lessons

Hi Anese,
I can say that many parts are sounding smoother on this new take. The next step is to polish details regarding bending pitches and timing. I note that many bends are close but not perfect (most of them are on the same times that I've commented before), do you identify them? There are also some parts in which the rhythm is slightly different compared with the original lesson. I recommend you two things. 1. Play the lesson along with the original lesson to imitate rhythm and pitches. 2. Isolate bends and trickier parts to polish details. -------------------- My lessons

Hi Anese! I can hear improvements on these new takes. I think that your playing is smoother in the second take. That's my favorite take regarding playing. Regarding the tone, I feel that the first one is closer so that could be the right pick up for this one. But both are ok!

How are you it's been a couple of weeks since my bendy blues lesson take .. oh wait haha, Happy New year man and I hope you had a joyful christmas holiday with your family and friends. I wish you a great year full of happiness and success. so I was saying that I guess we made some decent progress in the blues lesson, do you think we can move forward ? the previous days following the bendy blues lesson Take, I started working on both of these lessons: - The beginner sweep picking lesson (I asked for this) and I started working on it in parallel as I was working on the bendy blues lesson. Im almost done with it, so I'll post a Take in the upcoming days. - the 15 blues lick lesson: you suggested this lesson a while back to get some ideas from it for my improvisation skills, but even though that the lesson's difficulty level is 2, i see that there are some tricky stuff regarding bending and vibrato that i can benefit from. - finally, as you know that i have this bad habit of leaning aside from the practice routine and get hooked on those youtube lessons, I tried to learn the opening riff from Chuck Berry's Johny B. Goode (may the lord bless his soul) and the other one is Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb ending solo, here are two videos I recorded, watch and let me know what you think in general. oh damn i wrote so much that started to get tired, sorry for making you goin through all of this. so here's what I will do, in the upcoming days I will post two takes, one for the beginner sweep lesson, and another for the 15-licks blues lesson, i think I get through them from the first take since they are not that tough, Hopefully!!  following that I will update you with a list of all the lessons that we worked on so we can decide what to work on next. Hi Anese! Great to find news from you!
I don't think that learning songs from youtube is a bad habit. If you enjoy it and it keeps your playing, that's great!! I've enjoyed both new videos. It would be good if you keep on practicing these songs to polish details. Regarding your plan, it sounds great. I'll wait for your vids and list of lessons to play how to continue here. Hello Gabby How are you As I mentioned before that i will post takes of the two quoted lessons, the sweep picking lesson was not that hard, but the blues lick lesson was a bit tricky, even though it's a level 2 lesson and it sound straight forward to get but it really was one of the most difficult lessons that I had to work on here, there's nothing seemed hard technically but the details are kind of hard to get. however I posted two recording of both of the lessons, let me know what you think.

Hi Anese!
Great job with both lessons!! The Sweep Picking one sounds perfect, I don't find any issue to fix on it. It's played tight and clean, well done! The blues licks are also sounding good! I only think that you could put some more focus on expressing details, mostly to articulation and dynamics. I also feel that the tone doesn't help with this, I would try a bit less drive to be able to manage more dynamics in your playing. -------------------- My lessons

Hello Gabriel Thank you for your feed back for sweep picking I started to work with this lesson which you suggested as a next step after the begeinner sweep lesson, this one will go to the REC room once Im done with it. also thanks for the less drive tip for the tone in the blues lick lesson, and for the dynamics I will try to focus on that along in the future lesson do you have any suggestions for new lessons? also please indicate something for theory. just to remind you that we worked before on the he CAGED system, and A minor pentatonic scale. |

Hi Anese, could you please write a list with the lessons that you've worked and you consider "passed"?

here's an updated list of the lesson we've worked on - Picking Hand basics \ REC take score : 9 - Hard Rock Power Chords\ REC take REC score : 8 - Ben's Vibrato Odyssey 5 \ REC take socre 9.3 - Classic Punk: Sex Pistols \ REC take core 7 - Legato and Picking \ REC take score 7.7 - BucketHead Style II \ REC Take score 7 - Alternate picking (No Rec take, we worked on this lesson in the monitoring thread only, this is the final take - BB's blues lesson (learned) - REC take Score:7.7 - Phrasing lesson - you asked me to apply the techniques i learned in this lesson to the previous lessons that I learned - in this TAKE I applied some of the phrases that I learned - Beginner Bending Workout REC Take core: 9 - Blues theory/ I applied pentatonic scales on Am jam track, here are the take below : improv 1 improv 2 improv 3 - THE CAGED SYSTEM ( ALL I remember about this is how to move chord shapes and scales along the fret board and form major pentatonic scales around the chord shapes) - Bendy blue lesson take score 7.7 - beginner sweep picking I posted a solid audio take on the monitoring take and it got a very good feed back. - Masters of Sweeping (working on this one, this must go to the REC room soon) take your time and let me know what do you suggest to start working on next. |

Regarding theory, you already know Caged System related to Major Pentatonic scale, and you've said Minor Pentatonic. Can you see minor pentatonic related to caged system too? Besides those things, we need to get into major and minor scales, three notes per string shapes, triads, arpeggios and modes. But not everything at the same time, I'll guide you. Related to technique, and musical lessons, let's continue with lessons that I consider the next steps.
