It's a beautiful song! It's good to give it a try and see what happens. Then, we can search for exercises that help you to master the parts that are above your level.

I love this Opeth's tune. The melody is great, it's a perfect mix of optimism and melancholy. It's just perfect!

Your playing is also good, you just need to continue practicing to make everything sound cleaner. There are noise phrases in the song so be sure to mute the strings that you are not playing. I also can find some pitch issues, in some bends, but also in some long notes from the first phrases. Be sure to avoid extra pressure that generates this pitch issue.

This is on the right track but needs polishing.

Hi Gabriel

This is a take with another backtrack and a different sound preset..... more in the "spirit" of the original one.

i have paid attention about pitch issue and bend, hope this is good for you

Hi Laurent, yes, this one sounds much better. I think that the tone fits better with the feel of the song, and the pitch of your playing is good now, well done!

Thanks a lot for the video!

Now I can see clearly that the problem is that your left hand is not familiar with these new shapes. The best way to practice this is to isolate each chord and practice it. Practice the motion that you hand needs to do to play it, keep the shape for some time as a stretch exercise. Do this diary for some time (20 minutes). After some days practice going from one chord to the other. Start slowly, and work on making the transition smoother.

This is the only way, don't worry about the left hand arpeggio at first, work on your left hand.

Hi gabriel

About "to rid the desease" i have found an alternate way to play it, very close from the previous one, in fact few changes but it help a lot.

i'll soon be able to play theses arpegio at the full speed, for now i can play the chords at the good rythm.

then, i have:

- start to learn "this love" from pantera, a good way to apply the learned lesson with Todd.

- slow down on "burden" because i can play the last part at the good speed, some details need more work, but i prefere to focus mayself on other task.

- work again speed & shape drill, refresh and enhance my knowledge is good.

- participate to the last collab project.

and that's all for now, enought for a simple man, so i spend hours about drill drill and drill.

cheers

Laurent
