Hi Laurent,

yes, chords are great to understand the fret board, that's why I think that it can be really useful to go deeper with theory behind chords and progressions.

The song is on the way, but you have to practice! Many chords sound with muted notes, and there are timing issues here and there.

Hi Laurent, this song is really making you work hard! That's great! smile.gif

The take has clear timing issues so you still need to continue working, but your mind needs more days to assimilate the licks so take your time and be patient.

Hi Laurent, good job! This is getting better. You still need to continue adjusting timing but the good news is that you are much closer now, so you are working it right. In order to adjust each phrase, I recommend to work on small block again, this time focusing on being precise with rhythm, notes duration and timing.

i start to work on another Opeth title, "To ride the desease" and "Burden", to work on theses f****inOpeth tracks i see my rythm play improved a lot, i have spend some hours to play with my friend Yann, and he was rally amazed about my progress, so i keep work on !!

As i have send you a link to a Godfather cover impro, you can see i have work on too.

I still work on the assigmements one your topic, even if i do not have post any takes since the last one.

still work on a blues rythm lesson, i'll do a REC soon i think,

Still work with Todd...... practice and practice even more.....

i have stop to work a lot with my jackson, cause the position cause my pain in my left elbow..... i drink a lot of water and play with a LP to void pain

theses are the last news !

edit:

it look like i have open another door !! so happy !

Laurent

ps: you'll think i'm crazy, how someone can spend so many time around an axe for some results, but no more

Hi Laurent, this is evolving really well!

Some details:

The lead guitar that appears at 00:25 is a bit loud. The distorted section at 00:44 could sound tighter, work on the connection of the chords and also on the single strings details. In the end, when the solo starts I notice that your bends are not totally on pitch, work on it too.

Keep on the hard work!

Hi Gabriel

I have check some lives and cover and it appear that:
The tab I have are far more complex than what they play in live....
And this sound more natural to my ears, so I'll always keep an eyes on the tab
But I'll more listen my ears.

Today I'm at the half of the tittle. so happy to be able to learn and play on !

The harder is coming...... Pray for me

Laurent

That's normal. Maybe tabs are not completely right or maybe they simplify things for playing live. It's different to play sitting down at the studio than playing live, so you'll find that many guitarists sometimes simplify or improvise some parts at concerts.

Hi Laurent, this is getting better, good job. It still needs polishing but I can hear that your timing is tighter, the chord changes smoother and the lead guitar is also a bit more adjusted. There are some fast licks in which I note that your hands are not perfectly in sync, you need to work on it.

Keep on practicing.

Hi Laurent, it's great to know that this songs are making you practice a lot! Playing along with songs that we like is the best way to get in shape in a real musical situation. It's much better than practicing exercises because you play the real thing, rhythm and lead guitar. Keep on practicing this stuff and if you want to make it even more helpful, analyze what's happening regarding theory.
