Ok Gab,

I really don't know what you will make of this, I couldn't get the sound I wanted, I couldn't really get my ideas across either but I put this down anyway. See what you make of it tongue.gif

Same three chords throughout. Very very free style.

You've broken the ice! Well done Phil!

I think that it's better if we get back to pictures, what do you think?

Yeah probably. Maybe with more variety. We had a lot of horror themed ones before.
With that piece I wanted to play a boring strumming pattern and then go into a freestyle piece with the same chords but played with abandon, like a child dancing for pure pleasure, not caring what people think about whether they're in time or doing great moves just pure enjoyment in the moment.
That's what I wanted to do.
Cheers Gab.

That's a creative approach mate. Thanks for sharing the concepts behind your last tune. I can get the feeling.

Do you have any ideas for the next picture?

Maybe some form of racing, horses, cars, motorbikes. I've been wondering how people would work with a short piece of video. Like a clip cut from this.

Or some other piece that builds to a climax. No more than thirty seconds but I guess finding the video would be the hardest.
Cheers

Sorry

It doesn't have to be that, it could be anything. If you take the time to watch that video it is one of the best battles by two of the best riders in history wink.gif

Cheers

This for the last one. The Alan Watts quote. Perhaps the quote and a little bit of Gabriel's video of the man drudging down the stairs got to me. Anyway. Its a WIP. But I had fun arranging it. If only my guitar skills were better to match my ideas. Guess I can now work on the new one.

Wou Gene! You did a killer job with this one! Your composition connects so well with the speech but it's also a very creative composition by itself. It's awesome how this assignment made you create such an inspiring track. I love it, it's very musical, very cinematic... so great.

Thanks for sharing!

Cool Post Alex5. I like the mood.

Here is an attempt. I added just the backing if someone else wanted to take a shot at it. My guitar skills just are not up to what I hear in my head, but eventually. I got another to add later with spoken word and the story behind the song but got other stuff to do, so maybe later in the week. The levels sound a bit different once uploaded. Let me know what you think. I might adjust them a little.

Just curious. Does anyone else notice the difference in quality between listening to a linked soundcloud file here on the forum as opposed to listening to it at Soundcloud? It seems to me that there is a bit of subtle degradation of quality.

I redid the guitar part. It felt flat. I changed my tone and tried to get a looser phrasing. I kept the general concept, just altered my playing. I left the missed notes, false bends, and out timings. It's a single take. But I like this one better.
