Really struggled again, my ideas outweigh my skill so I did my best to get my thoughts across. I thought about how scary it would be, how tense you would feel and then the panic would start, trying to get out, no escape; trapped; panic; trapped; panic; trapped; the end.

I did two, the second with a different ending. The little sound at the end was left in, you can come to your own conclusions to why.

Hi Phil! Great to see you again on this thread!

As I said many times, this workout has been designed to train our creative side so dedicating some time to try to create music for the different pictures here is very enriching. Honestly the process is as or maybe more important than the final result.

In this case your tune is totally successful because it reflects exactly the feeling that you got by watching the picture. I listened to your recording with a full screen of the photo and I really could get into it.

Congrats mate! smile.gif

Thanks Gab,

I was trying to create a sense of panic and desperation using rhythm but as you know, my rhythm playing is in need of a lot of attention.

The second one was supposed to give a feeling of being free at the end, free in one way or another. The little note at the end of the first one, that is also there in the second one, was a final kick of life of the captured man. I felt bad doing this really given the current climate but it had to be done. sad.gif

I'm glad you could identify with it, at least it had something that could be identified with. I know it's not my best piece but I did it in 15 minutes as time as usual was very tight. When I listen to it myself I do get a little anxious, like when you're watching a film and someone is trapped and you want them to escape wink.gif

Cheers

Ok, I like the intro which I did using Studio One 2 that I got with my PreSonus preamp. I'm need a more haunting melody and I'd like some lead playing that gives the impression that the beast is waiting in the next room, it would need to be low in the mix but easily heard. My skills in mixing aren't good enough for that though laugh.gif

Thank you so much for your kind words Gab, the bridal march was played on one of the synths that came with my free version of Presonus Studio One 2 that I got with my preamp. I created a wav in Studio One and imported it into Reaper. The melody was played on guitar with something I cooked up on my Boss GT-001. I tried to get a more haunting melody and tone but couldn't sad.gif
The Studio One DAW came with loads of instruments and I love the interface. I shall be exploring it more little by little.
Cheers smile.gif
