I started a Facebook today, for the purpose of using it to connect to musicians in my area, I started a band mix account and described what I'm looking for and gave a link to my Facebook so they can view my recordings. Any of you guys tried using social media to reach out and find people to play with?
I'd like to get a tone of music on there that I can check out also, so if you guys got music rich facebook hit me up on the line.

I've been trying to search for people to create music with on Facebook in the past, but it can be a bit tedious. A lot of people jumped on and said: "Hey, I'd like to create something with you!" and then they never seemed that interested anyway for various reasons, I suppose.

Yea that's the problem I have to.
I tried band mix but it would always be something, free time didn't match, people weren't serious, or something.
My idea is you need people who hang together and also play, I don't really have friends who play. So Facebook seemed like a good idea, I can make my recordings public, share a little of my life, and see if the people who are interested are just a normal dude who wants to jam, and if the guy is someone I'd not want to be around I would have a idea. I have another Facebook but I started a new one to just keep it for music from me others and close friends.
