I isolate, I play sequences with metronome. New lesson : Funk Rythm by Muris again It's the same, I like this rythm, I play with BT 85% New lesson : Swep picking 7th Arpeggios. I think, my right hand's tecnic is not really good. Have you advice about sweeping technic ? Alternate Workout : By Muris I progressed. Hi MisterM!
What a killer post! I can see that you are working really hard and that your playing progressing a lot. All these lessons are going on the right track and I feel that the only thing that you need is to keep on practising every day to become more comfortable with them to increase tempo or to make them sound smoother. Your vibrato on the SRV lesson is good, I think that the lesson has good energy but you need more days to be able to play it more relaxed and to make everything sound more natural and connected with the backing's groove. Sometimes your vibrato sounds a bit "forced", so keep on experimenting and practising. About Sweep Picking, the only thing that I can comment about it is that the Sweep should be a continuous right hand motion, (like a sweep). In this take you tend to stop in some strings making the movement smoothness. It's good to check some Sweep Picking masters and notice how they do the movement smooth and continuous... Yes, this new take shows improvement regarding the things commented previously. The main thing to polish was vibrato and I can see that it's better and perfect in some sections. The idea here is that you let the note sound, then add vibrato gradually, and try to make it go with the groove of the backing. The new take shows many improvements in this direction, so keep going!

Hi MisterM,
this new take reflects all the work you've been doing. I can hear that you are playing the phrases smoother, with a much better articulation. Vibrato and bending still need work. You seem to have enough strength for vibrato, because it's wide but it's still played too early and tend to be a bit irregular sometimes. Your bending sometimes is not precise, you seem to be searching for the pitch instead of targeting it with confidence. Keep on the hard work! -------------------- My lessons

Hi MisterM, good stuff.
The lesson keeps on evolving and improving from take to take. There is more room to make that vibrato more natural and consistent yet so keep on practising this one every day. However, I think that you've reached a level in which is time to move to another lesson and let this one to be player once or twice every day. I would go for something that demands vibrato and dynamics work. The improvisation sounds good. It shows similar vibrato issues and from my opinion it's lacking some dynamics. I would set a cleaner tone to be able to manage more dynamics. What do you think? -------------------- My lessons

Ok thanks for your advices. I made a Take soon. Today I Played with Fender Telecaster Standard (MEX, MN) black I bought it for my son a few months ago. A present for the very good school work. They strings are 9/42, it is very pleasant... I added room ambient track, you can hear my attack picking. What do you think about it ? |

Hi MisterM! This lesson is sounding great! I like the idea of adding an ambient track to the final mix. It makes your video sound more natural, keep this idea!

Hi Gab
Thank for advices. I like the sound, but I hear an echo on the BT. Next take - I think I'll wear headphone. I 'll add the string attack only on the track. The progress on "Funk Soloing" is long - up to 100% need more work I looked statistics of slow rock solo lesson. Others student's take are good, I saw some détails that I've to work. I set my ibanez TKS5740. I changed strings and I ajusted intonation. The sound is better - Bends better pitch. I'll made a take in a few weeks.

Hi MisterM! I think that this is a very good lesson. I don't find any important thing to improve on this one. The only thing that I feel is that your vibrato tends to be a bit "nervous" and it quits some feeling to the whole thing. I would try adding vibrato a bit later on some notes to avoid this "nervous" feeling.

Ok for Vibrato, I work on. Progress is long  I continue several lessons - Funk Rythm - Funk Solo - Legato lesson - Alternate workout - SRV Style 2 news lessons - String skipping melodies Learning - Outlaw Country During July 2015, I had worked "Open String Pull-Off ==> Take 80% Chris's lesson. This lesson was difficult and I stopped it. This week, I learn Chris's easier lesson "Country Outlaw", I likes the style Country music When I shall have finished, I shall begin again "Open string pull off Drop D 9/42 hard to have good tune open string. The country lesson sounds good. You just need to make the finger picking parts of the hybrid picking patterns sound clearer. I can't listen to the notes clearly, I'm not sure if it's related to the mix or performance. Other than that, it's ok! Good timing. -------------------- My lessons

Great take man, there is nothing really important to improve. There is some little (very little) room to sound smoother in some parts but I'm being really strict. Great job.
