> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi man, it's good to see somebody tackling this lesson.. I had to go back and remind myself how it sounded!

Ok, the first thing I would suggest is to give yourself more time to memorise and learn the correct note configurations. You're playing the right chords 99% of the time but the single note lines are often incorrect.

-The chord at 0:21 is wrong. You are playing it as a normal power chord but it's slightly different. It's only the index finger that moves down a fret, the middle finger stays where it is.

-The lead guitar overdubs: You don't have to play these parts - these are put there in case you want to overdub them on a separate track but for the main riff part, you can just focus on the riffing. smile.gif

Your timing is good, and your hand coordination seems cool too. If I had to sum up where you are with this track I would just say that you made the take before you memorised the lesson, so whilst you were playing your fingers forgot what they had to do! wink.gif

That 1-3-5- chord is indeed difficult, as you said. You might need a lot longer before your hands can stretch to play it but just try to do a little bit of it every day but not too much. Hand safety is important!

Hi mate!

The following step after checking the right notes and chords as Ben suggested is to add the expressing elements that make the original lesson sound as the masters:

- Addition of palm muting on single note passages.
- Use of artificial harmonics on riffs.
- More precise use of palm muting on chord riffs.
- Dynamics

The take is not bad, you are on the right track with this one but some more attention on the previous stuff as well as some little tweaks on chords and riffs will take this one to a new level.

Keep on the hard work.

Hey there!

Your timming seems quite good same as overall hands position, pick grip etc. There is a lack of precission here - at some points it might be more a case of memory (still a few days of practice to simply avoid wondering where to place the fingers smile.gif

There are probably only 3 spots that needs extra attention - all are relatively fast runs - one is played 2 times and both sounds like the same issue so try to review your picking direction and left hand sync - that where the issue might hide.
