Hi laurent! Nice work! That's what I call tasty playing! I enjoyed this take, your phrasing, and the tone that you get with playing with your fingers.

I think that playing at this speed will allow you to experiment by paying more attention to the note choices on strong beats, and also when you decide to play an accentuated note or a long note. Avoiding to stay too much or target on 4ths and diminished 5th will make your whole phrasing more connected with the chords from the backing.

Keep on working!

Here comes my take for #2. Its not easy to make a tasty melody out of five notes biggrin.gif
Also to connect both G major pentatonic shapes is tricky.

you can find here C# pentatonic major and C# Major scales into a very well know track (played by myself of course, i have proof, you can find errors !!! biggrin.gif wacko.gif )

i have play this one with the idea to put in it what we have learn for now in this thread.

enjoy it ! i had a lot of fun while play it !! wub.gif

Hi Gab,
please can you explain your comment for Laurent's take

"Avoiding to stay too much or target on 4ths and diminished 5th"

I thought we can use only the major pentatonic which doesnt contain 4ths and diminished 5th, I must be missing something here ....

Anyway I uploaded some ideas here, sorry for the quality ... sad.gif

Hi,

I think I used more major scale than pentatonic but I tried to mix both.

Hi Tom! Excellent job!! Your playing is really tasty on this take. I like how you managed your phrasing and your note choices. You've felt limited but your recording doesn't sound like that, it sounds full and complete. Congratulations on your great job!

Keep on experimenting with this stuff. wink.gif

hehehe this is great Laurent!! I'm a big fan of Slash so this take reminded me to those teenager days when I used to watch GN'R live videos all day long. Your playing is really good on this one, I like how you took a melody and made it of your own, combining it with your own phrasing and licks.

I would adjust your guitar which is too noisy. I wonder if this is related to the use of too much distortion of maybe a cable that is not working good. Please try to discover the reason why your solo sound so noisy.

Keep on rocking!!

Hi Petr, his take was based on the third part of this week's works that is based on combining Pentatonic with Major scale, that's why he is using more notes. By the way, the intervals relationship when soloing is done with the chord sounding at each moment, so Pentatonic scale includes fourths of some of the chords from the backing.

Your take shows that you are getting familiar with the scale. I also notice that you are slowly starting to create phrases that connect and use the call and response idea. Work more on it! Listen to vocal melodies from your favorite songs, or even songs by players like Satriani or Andy Timmons to get inspiration on how to manage and connect phrasing.

Please keep on working on this.

Hi friend, your take is VERY musical!! It's true that you are using more the complete scale than pentatonic so it's ok to keep on practicing to be able to use both sounds but the good news are that this is a very musical solo, and that's the most important thing. Congratulations on your work here!
