...no, not gas, but GAS!

I'm suddenly drooling again again again over a JPM100, and I'm starting to get really serious about buying one if I can save up for it over the next half year or so. It seems to be an investment as well, as they don't seem to drop in value anymore, from what I can tell. There's one going in Spain for $1950 at the moment. That's quite a bit steeper than when they used to be around $1000.

Most people seem to think it's not a pretty guitar, but for me it's always been a special one. Petrucci, in his younger days, has always been one of my favorite players, so maybe that's why I like this one.

Of course there are many other guitars I'd love to own, but this has crept up to being number one again.

Are you GAS'ing over anything at moment?

Ever noticed the neck PU is upside down on that guitar? smile.gif

It's actually a customized Dimarzio Norton that was never produced, yet dimarzio wanted to boost sales of the air norton and even today many think petrucci used air norton's during that era but they are very wrong.

I actually opened up my air norton and internally tweaked it to get that PU's sound but couldn't as the slug coil is too winded with the original norton or air norton's.

Also, I once saw a perfect replica or that guitars paint which was done on a regular ibanez RG. If you're into it for the looks (the neck on the JPM100 is a bit thick by the way) I'm sure someone could do it in Europe for a lot less.

I've seen the replicas that go for around $500, but I want the real deal! tongue.gif

I do wonder how the replicas compare playing wise to the real deal.

I'm not sure what would happen anyway if I were to import it to Denmark. Sometimes they add a lot of extra costs.

Nooooooo, the gas is unreal tonight! Now I'm thinking I'd like a 7 string Ibanez prestige, but not sure what to go for.
