Because I am a proud owner of Orange Micro Terror I became very happy when I saw this announcement.
It is a hybrid amp with a 12AX7/ECC83 valve in the preamp
Orange also added a effects loop now!

Interesting! I've tried micro terror and I've liked it. Does this one sound more metal? I don't remember if I could get those metal tones on micro terror...

I have not managed to get this kind of metal tones on my micro terror. However if you use a tube screamer and max gain you can get some metal tones out of the micro terror.
Here is another video with even more metal tones. (Skip to 3:14)

mmm...I guess they went with the user requests to make an affordable metal amp which is cool but with such minimal struckture they had to use transistor based tech to get such sound.

Still cool, though wouldn't expect from Orange since they were so proud of their oldschool approach. From video's its sound like a mt-2 is installed the amp, I have to be fair its a low watt design but couldn't help the feel as it sound too pedal-like...

Yes, from what I know this has been requested ever since the micro terror released. I have to agree with you Mertay some of the metal sounds did not sound very good to me. However I am excited to watch more demos and try it in person.

I"m glad they finally put an fx loop on it! I have to say I think I still prefer the Hotone Heart Attack nano amp for Metal stuff. Has just wads of gain, and the fx loop. No tubes though smile.gif It was designed to be a sort of "Micro Mesa"

No headphone out demo but this one felt like it gives a better idea.

I dig the micro orange amps smile.gif They are not really built for Metal Imho, but they are nice quality amps and they are ORANGE amps after all which is worth something in itself, especially on resale. It almost seems like they cam out with this one to compete more with the HEART ATTACK amp that I reviewed in the previous post. The Heart Attack has WADS more gain and will push a 4x12. However, it's got not tubes and it doesn't say ORANGE on it, also the Heart Attack doesn't do cleans as well it seems. It does sound great on lead though smile.gif Here it is with a harmonizer.
