At least I don't have to learn much, it has an accel/control pedal and a looper but pretty much the same as my GT001 so I thought it would be good as a back up in case the GT-001 fails wink.gif

I think it will be, I'll connect it to the PC via USB for controlling it though.

Cheers

After setting up some patches the usb probably won't always be needed, makesure to check for fx heavy patches so you can disable any amp/distortion etc. in to get cool modulation stuff. Factory presets in processors are usually pretty good.

Yeah I think I'll be using the USB when doing the creativity workshop but my idea is to replicate the patches on both units

The bloke who I won the GT100 from on Ebay, the same bloke who marked it as "posted" has refunded me saying PayPal won't transfer the money to his account. That's not my problem, I won it fair and square. I think he didn't get what he wanted for it.
Not the way to work in my opinion.
EBay told me to give him relevant feedback. I asked "can't you do anything to make him follow the deal through?" They said that they take these matters very seriously and if he gets bad feedback he may have disciplinery action. That doesn't help the buyer though.
Not a happy bunny. I couldn't do that to someone after they had won an item and is marked it as posted.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I ran across this Ibanez S5527TKS on Craigslist today so I thought I would maybe go take a look at it, and I was just wondering what folks here could tell me about this model. Is it a winner?

Thats a nice axe!. Play it first!

1400 seems rich considering they are 1700 new. it's still pretty new but once you leave the store with it, it's "used" so asking nearly new price is a stretch imho. But put your hands on it and see if the axe talks to ya. Put $700 in cash in his hand and ask how that feels. Bring a bit more but don't bring more than you wanna spend smile.gif

$700 eh? After the upgrades he has done I was thinking about offering $1000 but yeah it has to pass the hands on test first to be sure.I shot the guy an email and he lives pretty close so maybe I will get to check it out today. Thanks Todd!

There are 2 kinds of people in the world, Ibanez RG people and Ibanez S people smile.gif. I'm an S person, so I like the S5527.

That's a Prestige model, so it's built in the Fujigen factory with higher quality components and stricter QA than the standard model. The fretwork will be especially nice on that guitar.

However, you can get a new S5527 for that price, so he's charging a premium for the modifications he's made. The problem is you may not like the modifications he's made, so be extra careful when examining this guitar.

$1000 is what I was thinking might be a couple offers in smile.gif If you start half way down and he comes back and forth a bit, maybe you can end around a grand and have a great deal on the guitar. Cash is great motivator and it's really tough to hand cash back once it's in the hand. Bring hundred dollar bills i'd say smile.gif

Yeah, $1000 is a fair price for a used stock S5527 in good condition and including the factory case (the factory case is especially nice). Ones with the maple top go for more, but this doesn't have the maple top.

Thew new pickups are a nice touch and the trem block. Good news for the buyer is that those types of upgrades usually don't impact the "comps" comparables/price by much. I learned that the hard way when I sold a guitar with the kerry king EMG package in it and it barely budged the needle. Nice that he is throwing in the original pups too in case you want to take it back to stock. smile.gif

I'm an RG guy but love S 7 string series smile.gif friend of mine has a lower-end S 7 string and the neck is really comfortable to me. Funny 6 string S guitars (as much as I love them) don't feel that comfortable.

1000 seems good but if you have the chance to play it and feel a special bond, a little higher wouldn't hurt to seal the deal. If he's strict on that price and if you're not crazy about the guitar, give it 2-3 weeks minimum and call him again if its not sold.

Many sellers need to get bored of the wait/phone calls to find the right price.

Todd, good point there about the upgrades, they don't often end up increasing the value too dramatically.

Mertay, I had noticed that he has had the ad up for 20 days so I am hoping he is eager to deal a bit. smile.gif
