The picking hand should always stay in contact with bridge or close to the bridge because hovering is a bad thing to do as you won't be able to control your moves. Usually when i play it's the wrist that touches the bridge of the guitar.

thanks a lot. I'll work on it, I seem to be muting the low E when i'm resting on bridge. I'm playing a Fender Stratocaster if that makes any difference. Any tips?

Any tips? It's good to mute low strings when playing high strings. When you move up to low strings than you un-mute the low strings. I mute low E string when i'm playing it I mean, i can't seem to rest my palm on the bridge without touching the string, is there something i'm doing wrong? |

These bridges are VEEEEEERY uncomfortable fir this style of picking.

If you guitar has whole for regular tremolo,you can put floyd rose there and you'll have brige like this on my Axis,only way-down which is really cool for me.

My bridge looks like this http://www.vintage-guitars.se/1986_Fender_...0292_bridge.jpg I mute low E string when i'm playing it I mean, i can't seem to rest my palm on the bridge without touching the string, is there something i'm doing wrong? no, nothing wrong. only major issue with that bridge is with the height adjustment screws, which stick up on top of the bridge. i set my action pretty low, so they do stick up on the middle 4 strings. and they are rough, a lot of friction trying to slide one's palm over those. it appears to me that the adjustment screws on the end strings are shorter, and they are near flush with the bridge. i think I will see if I can get my hands on some of those, to replace the adjustment screws in the middle. you may be having this problem, the screws elevate your palm, and you can't ease into a nice damping position. |

I am in love with Edge right now because it's perfect on top where you keep your hand. Nothing sticks out and your hand is free.
