Awhile ago I tryed out the GP 5 demo and found it pretty useful but when the trial period ran out I didnt really feel like I was missing it that much. but now that I have been learning theory over the past week or so and getting a much greater understanding of music I really feel like I am missing out on alot in the lessons. I feel that just watching/listening to the videos and reading the tabs just doesnt cut it anymore. I realise it doesnt cost much but I dont have a job at the moment so I was wondering if someone could maybe send me a message telling me where I could get a free version from.... or is it really that great and I should just stop being a tight ass and fork out the money?

Hungus,
What do you mean by "free version"? (we shouldn't discuss or encourage anything illegal here).

I think Guitar Pro is good at what it does, and it's easy to work with. So I'd say: fork out the money! smile.gif

Yes. Definitely worth the cash.

And anyone using Guitar Pro should check out the RSE (realistic sound engine) plugins. They make the instruments sound more realistic instead of midi sounding. Very cool stuff.

Guitar Pro 5 comes with RSE and it makes it way better in my opinion. much better than little bleeps.
JCJXXL: would those be additional plugins for the RSE or just the standard ones

Also, i think that using the RSE feature is the only way to make the Wah feature in GP to work. So if you use alot of wah in your composition and solo writing, RSE can be very handy.

Yeah, about hat RSE feature, its really giving the programme a soundquality boost, but sometimes it somehow manages to crack my whole pc up... Now I know that the thing I'm using is not actually what you would call state of the art (about 4 years old...) but I was wondering if people where experiencing the same kind of trouble. Usually when it happens the RSE/CPU: meter in the lower right corner goes all into the red (89+%) and the sounds start to get all sloppy and the notes seem to grind along the fretboard, if you get my idea tongue.gif.

Cheers,

MerV
