I am diving in to OVERLOUD TH3 and I really dig some of the new bits. There is a really killer Harmonizer in this version. Here is a preset using the Harmonizer set to E Minor. It's an 80's lead patch with a bit of Vai/Satch flava. Enjoy smile.gif

Patch Download (unzip after download) UPDATE: here is the .ovp file zipped. (.ovp is the new file extension evidently for presets. Just click IMPORT FROM FILE and click on this file once you download and unzip it)

They sound sexy as hell... love the harmonizer. I haven't really personalised anything yet but when I do, I'll whack them up here smile.gif

Ok, I've got a lead tone for y'all........ it's about as close as you can get to my JVM lead tone without going out and buying one yourself. As you can hear, my tone is quite 'in the middle' in terms of sonic impact. I tend to avoid extremes of lows, highs etc. My ideal tones are always thick, creamy and sweet. A bit like a caramel chocolate bar.

There's an optional auto wah and chorus in the chain if you wanna get Zakk Wylde with it as well.

BEN! I've added all these patches with audio demos on soundcloud to a playlist on soundcloud and I wanted to ask if you have a short sample of your patch that you can upload to soundcloud so I can add it to this playlist. Or shoot me an mp3 and I'll upload it and add it to the playlist smile.gif

Also, if anyone else has TH3 Patches they'd like to share and have added to this playlist, please let me know!! Here is a link to the playlist. It's got a sound demo of each patch and a link to download each one. smile.gif

[c
olor="#2E8B57"]CLEAN PATCH[/color]

This is the clean patch that I created for our 2018 xmas collab. It's a simple patch and it works great for bits where you want to play a lead "ish" bit with a clean tone. Compressor helps it stand out and the Lynch camp adds just enough aggression. To wit!!

As you probably know, most tone actually comes from the player. From the fingers, the mute, the picking etc. Also, the guitar being used has an impact as well, e.g. tele vs ibanez. That being said, I'm pretty sure you could get a rough aproximation of this type of tone using a low/mid gain setting. There are quite a few options in TH3 that are pre built and ready to go in terms of patches. I'd say play a bit and record it. Then let it play on a loop. Then start running through Th3 patches as it plays on a loop so you can focus on how the patch sounds. Once you find a patch that is sort of close, start tweaking it to taste and save it as a new name/file. That way you can always come back to it. Starting out with an existing patch and modifying it can save a lot of time. Of course, you could always build one from scratch if you feel like it.

Here is the patch (based on Jazzy Lead in the "Evergreen Tones" preset section)
Attached File  Sem4__Todd.ovp.zip ( 2.55K ) Number of downloads: 446

Here is a screen shot so you can see what's in the patch

and here is a quick sample so you can hear roughly how it sounds. Of course, it will vary depending on the player, the guitar, etc.

Hope this helps wink.gif

Hi Todd

Thank for patch, I’ll take your advice on the loop.
I agree - Great sound doesn’t make a great guitar player.
it would be so simple biggrin.gif

TH3 has a lot of effect. However, I cannot define what Cosmin is using.
Overdrive + Delay + Reverb + Flanger or Phaser

Cosmin is a great player - I think he records with a microphone in front of his amp.
Also, I have a DV MARK MULTIAMP + ORANGE Cab - I will try with it.
The result may be better.

Send Gabe a personal message and ask him what he is using smile.gif That would be a quick way to get to the answer. When recording, you can use TH3 to add any fx you like. Start with no fx and add them one by one. Also you can add as many guitar cabs as you like. Then experiment with mic placement. You can build a virtual rig based on Gabes actual rig once you find out what is being used. In the mean time, using a mic/cab is always a good way to practice real world mic/cab recording which is a lost art these days.
