>Hey guys,
A few years ago I was very active in the REC program. I Always wanted to write and record my own music so I started study on sequencing and mixing. 2 months ago I uploaded one of 2 songs that are finished. I recorded everything in my little home studio and contracted a fantastic singer. Here's the YouTube link and of course, exactly as in the REC program I'm looking forward to any critics (good or bad).
My best wishes to everybody at GMC, staff, teachers and members

Right awaqy I like the use of multiple camera angles to give a more dynamic vibe and energy to the vid. Congrats again on completing another song/mix, and video!! None of these is easy to do and you've done all three, again!

I like the song, the playing and the solo. In a full on music video like this, I would like to see the singer at some point, even if it's just some shots of him in the studio. I like how you went to the shots of the folks on the train tracks as well smile.gif Though they may have been inter cut just a bit earlier in the vid in order to give two "scenes" to bounce back and forth from.

One thing on the singer, he does a great job. Perhaps having him double or harmonize a bit on the chorus of the song would make the chorus stick out a bit more? Just a small niggle smile.gif

Each vid seems to get better. Keep making them!!

Todd

Hi Todd,

Thanks again for your respons. Again, great tips !!! I really wish I could have the singer in my vids but it's a guy at StudioPros in LA. I don't think that they offer videos from their singers. I'm really a fan of him . I think for my kind of music, he is the perfect match, so I plan to contract him for my future projects as well. Maybe I can ask StudioPros if it's possible to have him in my vids but I really doubt that. He's a studiosinger and maybe doesn't want to be visually related to other peoples projects. I would understand that !!!

Thanks and all the best !

Nico

I never heard of Studio Pros before, how much was the cost to hire the vocalist - as they dont list any prices.

That's really nice. Great tone. Was that recorded with the Les Paul/Marshall?

Can you describe the process you used to work with StudioPro? How did you tell them what you wanted? Did you go back and forth to get the final vocal?

I understand. smile.gif If nothing else, you could get a stand in to fill in for him in the video just for the sake if video if you like, just to have someone singing on camera. If they would just even use a cell phone to vid the real singer, you could use that in a corner or something. Just thinking out loud of some way to get the vocalist in the video smile.gif

Hey mate,

The cost for the singer was 150 dollar. If you clic on the pictures of the singers you get all the information

Hi mate,

For this song I used the Les Paul indeed. It's my favorite axe, a Slash signature. A couple years ago a drove 6 hours up and down to get it.
I also use a Fractal Audio Axe-FX II to record my tracks. That black box is not cheap but worth every penny. It it crashes, I will buy another one immediately.

StudioPros is a fantastic company

First you make 2 demo's , an instrumental and one with your own vocal (in my case that's always terrible but that doesn't matter as long as the singer knows what you want him to sing) You upload these files to them together with the lyrics at the moment when you order the singer. Within 5 working days you receive a previeuw of the singer. If it's OK, you accept and get the final vocal track that you can mix down in your sequencer. You can ask for one adjusted track if there's something you want to change. It's all very professional !

If you can't record vocals yourself, you can use a guitar or anything else to show them the melodieline

StudioPros offer all the information you need on their website

Grtz

Good thinking mate!! Thanks.

I will ask StudioPros if there are any options in that direction.

As I mentioned, I want to keep working with them and this singer, maybe after a while I can ask for a favor ! rolleyes.gif

Great work man! It's awesome to see you back here with this production!

Your track sounds like a professional band and it's very promising! In the future I'd like to hear real drums or your virtual one but with a more real sound, more present bass (Is it real?), and I also like the idea suggested by Todd of adding backing vocals... maybe you can do them?

Your guitar tone is very tasty, very powerful and warm, and your playing is just perfect! I like your style, it has classic roots, and sometimes reminds me to Slash.

Congratulations!

Gabriel,

Reading this, coming from you, really touches me. Thanks man !!! I first reacted on your respons to Dead Alley Cat so already answered about the drums and bass issues. I will definitely try to do that better nex time.

Backing vocals, would be great but me singing them? NO WAY, I would destroy everything in a second blink.gif biggrin.gif laugh.gif

Slash was the reason I bought my first electric guitar. Although I'm a fan of so many great guitarplayers out there, he will always be my hero. If there is anything from that that reflects in my own playing then that's the biggest compliment I can get !!!!!!

Thanks Gab !!!!

All the best ! cool.gif

Good job Nico, not my go to type sound but you obviously went to great effort and expense to put this together and production wise it sounds well. Definitely agree that layering up the vocals would add a bit more of a punch. Well done on a great job.
