Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi friend, good work.

The overall sounds good, you can play each lick, even the faster ones smooth. Here I'll mark some elements to have in mind during the next days of practice and next takes:

- Pitch: I think that your take has pitch issues. This is related to the tuning (or maybe calibration) of your guitar which is not precise and also to your bending (for example at 00:39, 00:44).

- Vibrato: Your vibrato is not strong enough for this one. Work on it, try to make it wider as Guido does it in the original take.

- Timing: Just pay some extra attention to timing on trickier licks (00:30, 00:33).

That's all by now, keep on the hard work!

Hi Peter, this quite a good take, man. As Gabriel says, you could do with working on your vibrato to make it stronger. It's not bad as it is but having an extra level of expression available to you will always be a good thing.

Bending is generally good but in some cases I get the feeling your fingers are right on the edge of wanting to let the string down - perhaps building some strength into your fingers with some bending practise should be added to your routine?

Tone - a nice tone choice but it felt a little too dry. Perhaps some delay and a small amount of reverb would help it sit in the mix and also make you feel like you're achieving the right sort of ambience for this type of ballad. I know that I play better if my tone is sounding suited to the backing so give it a try as well smile.gif

Hey there! Excellent lesson choice!

As usuall your take is very good and all spotted issues are just a details. First of all I would agree with Ben on tone suggestion. You are really close with the tone match to original lesson but your tone lacks a bit of 1-3 kHz midrange, that is more present in Guido's tone, and that cuts through the mix very well. I think that a wide but litte (1-2dB) boost of this range would absolutely do the job smile.gif

I think that the bend at 0:29 is the weakest part of this take. Other bends are maybe not perfect yet, but more confident and closer to correct pitch.

Overall good work!
