> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi man!

Except in some little sections, your picking is good. You pick all the notes and keep both hands in sync in most of the take.

The main thing to polish on this take to make it sound flawless is timing. Those triplets are not going tight with the tempo of the backing track, you are close but not totally precise on many parts. It's irregular.

Besides this, the vibrato in the beginning is not as fast as the original and it's also a bit irregular. Work on it too!

That's all for this lesson, work on timing and vibrato and you'll nail it.

Hello man, it's good to see your first REC take smile.gif

As Gabriel said, your picking is good. The synchronisation between both of your hands is accurate as well so together this makes the picking licks work well. You're also adding the palm muting as well!

The only things that were not perfect were;

-Timing in some places was not as 100% as the rest of the take. This is mainly during the string skipping licks near the end.

-Vibrato. Although this is mainly a picking lesson, vibrato is a very important thing too so make sure you don't neglect it in your practises. If you want some easy things to work on that will help you with vibrato try this lesson

Hey there! Wellcome to GMC's REC section!

You look very focused while playing. You bring a lot of attention to each note and it gives good results. Your playing is really nice and clean for the overall skills level. That's very important.

Ben had a great idea on putting essential Gilbert's licks in a reasonable tempo. Picking hand and fretting hand sync while playing alternate picking you do, handle very well. Like guys pointed - vibrato and timing on the triplets are the issue here. Ben underlined it's not a vibrato lesson, but it's worth to give some extra attention to those few vibrated notes in this lesson. I can clearly see you do care about the precission since you do correct the pitch while you vibrate - that means you do hear properly (pitch sense) and you're on the very good path to make it work perfect. Just keep going smile.gif
