Props to fran for making a "MY FIRST IBANEZ" section in our WIKI. I get questions quite a bit about getting starting in Ibby land and my thoughts are now enshrined in the wiki. Fran you RAWK!!
Here is the link.

That's a great idea! Huge part of community are Ibanez users or players who would like to become one. I guess this would be very helpfull smile.gif

Awesome! Its can be overwhelming to figure out "whats what" with SO many different Ibanez models, years, etc. This Wiki will certainly help out.

Well said!! It can certainly get confusing with all the RG438939xpmz biz that Ibby use in their naming convention. Not to mention where each was built and what impact that has, or what series neck each has and that's a consideration as well. Since they started making soooooo many sub $500 guitars, it's very easy to buy a "Rack Queen" that looks amazing and doesn't play or sound particularly amazing.

Speaking of "first ibby" something like this would make a good one smile.gif This is a RG320 with flamed maple top and locking trem. Got it off ebay for $149. Sub $200 and it plays well smile.gif The pickups could use a swap, but as a first guitar, this would be a great choice.

Nice smile.gif It's sort of the Ibby version of a Gibson 355?

Yes. Close enough to a 335 (a couple years before) to get sued over until they changed the headstock and logo.
