As far as I understand yes, though I2m not an expert on whats going on inside the box as if mesa did the engineering tricks to make it sound how it is.

I do know a bit of studio monitor speakers, they come out of the factory sounding so different high-end companys test them in their lab. first before installing. I remember reading a famous company called PMC rejecting nearly 75% of the speakers that are sent to them cause of this.
