Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Petr,

this is a very good choice to adjust your rhythm playing. You can play the whole thing at tempo and now you need to put your focus on adjusting details in order to polish the rhythm and sound of each section.

I note small issues regarding both elements in parts like at 00:23, 00:26, 00:30, among some others. Sometimes the riffs sound sound clear, in many cases, the double stop are not sounding defined, while other times like when you play slides starting at 00:50, the problem is also timing.

Please keep on practicing this one but now with these elements in mind. If necessary, work on smaller sections.

Hi Petr, you did a good job of this track. The first half is very strong but the second half suffers from timing issues with those sliding chords. You're rushing to the 2nd chord after the slide each time. You need to hang on to the 1st chord a bit longer before sliding to the 2nd one.

You also keep allowing the open A string to sound during the riff section from 0:38 - 0:45.

I would suggest you use the bridge pickup for distorted rhythm guitar as well, the neck pickup is too muddy for this type of job. Neck pickups suit lead playing and clean guitar. For heavy rhythm playing you want the bridge pickup. Give it a try and see what you think.

Your use of palm muting is really good - well done!

Hey there!

First of all your take is quite descent and any small things to fix are just a details.

For me most important is what Ben has already mentioned - neck pick is not a good choice for this one. I guess the type of tone does not show how huge the difference is but for this kind of rythym playing (especially palm muting) we almost always use bridge pickup (toggle switch, bottom position)

Another thing is to let the powerchords ring as long as they should. Do not cut the sustain. Try to shift the position at the very last possible moment.

Timing problems are visible mostly at the begininng. They are not a huge problem though.

Well done!
