I've now contacted PayPal to see if they can help. If not, next stage is credit card company. mad.gif

Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in instalments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day's success.

Any way you could buy used? Or are you geographically isolated with zero music stores within close range so you pretty much have to pay retail and have new stuff shipped? I've had great luck and great price results buying used amp/preamps off sites like ebay. I still have the power amp and 11 rack that I got used from Ebay. I didi take a chance on a hand built new preamp from Russia, but thankfully that worked out smile.gif

I can buy used, it's just that I don't live that near to music shops that do used except my mate's shop. I got the Laney off eBay look where that left me wink.gif I just don't seem to have much luck with purchases. See here sad.gif

Anyway, PayPal have contacted Thomann, they are giving them ten days to respond, if they don't then PayPal will issue a full refund, if they do respond they have 30 days to resolve the issue.

For the record, Peavey UK haven't got back to me yet. I had to email Barnes & Mullins who distribute Peavey, they got back to me saying they had passed my email onto the Peavey dept, but nothing yet.

Cheers

Sorry to hear sad.gif Thankfully ANYTHING you get off ebay can be returned even if it says "NO RETURN" so there's that smile.gif So yeah, you can buy there til your blue the face and save money and be covered for returns which is why I use it so often smile.gif

Paypal is a great way to pay for stuff as they can FREEZE a vendor account at any time. That should get them to send you a non lemon unit from Thomann!!! smile.gif

Not shocked about peavey UK, they are a manufacturer, not a vendor, so lots more teeth with Paypal and the Vendor smile.gif Life in the big city eh?

The full refund with paypal is always a nice option smile.gif I gotta say, I'd seriously consider a preamp/power amp if your up for it. I have never heard anyone having this many issues with such a simple setup, it's disheartening. sad.gif

I hope you get the rig of your dreams in the next round wink.gif Even running the gt direct to a power amp might work if you like the amp sounds in it. I didn't like any of the gt amps but some folks LOVE em! BTW, You can get a CARVIN one rack unit stereo power amp for a couple hundred bux used on ebay (full refund via paypal, or a rocktron velocity power amp (I bought one and LOVE it as it has a presence/depth control for channel) for a few hundred).

That way you could put anything you like in front of it. But again just some thoughts. Some folks just don't like modular rigs and would rather have an amp and that's perfectly valid too. I just hope you get some better luck in this next round sad.gif

Amazing, Thomann have emailed me apologising for the late reply due to "high volume of emails", well they sure answer quickly with a sales enquiry!!!!!!!! Also if their returns system was working correctly I wouldn't have needed to email them, you just log in, go into your account, select returns, select the applicable order and select the item from that order that you want to return. Unfortunately my amp was not being displayed. Strange that!
Anyway I can return it for a repair when I get back from Portugal.
Fingers crossed. dry.gif

Yeah thanks Murray,
Everything I do will go through that now via Keeley compressor, Hotbird, Twin City and GT100. That will test it.

Cheers
