> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Funk Rhythms Workout by Diego Budicin

Hello guys, here a much better take then the previous one. I focussed on the first part, last part, and the single note lines. greetz Tim

Hey again Tim!

Opening Strumming part has tighter timing this time and you've managed to match the fast triplet runs really nice.
The problem with this take, same as with previous is the second half where both the timing and precision could be better.

I would advice you this kind of practise:
Separate the lick where the single notes are being played (around 0:41) and add one bar in front and one bar behind the lick. MAke a loop to practice all over again. Sometimes if we practise just the separated lick, we still have problems to play it correctly withing rest of the composition. That's because position shifts to get to the lick and thos to run out of it, are also making trouble.

Hi Tim, you're definitely becoming more comfortable with complex strumming patterns.

As we've mentioned already, you're aware of the single note lines needing to sound clearer and have better timing.

The other single note lick is the one around 0:58, which needs to be practised more to sound right. It's quite a complicated little run as you have to pick multiple strings.

See my feedback on your other REC in regards to tackling your alternate picking issues once and for all! smile.gif

Hi again Tim!

I can notice progress on this one! Your rhythm sound groovier and tighter, even in the faster strums! Congrats man!!

The timing issue appears again starting at 00:34, mostly when you combine chords, with single string palm muted patterns. The palm muting patterns are the ones that aren't going with the groove, so this is the part that needs your attention now.

Keep on the great job! smile.gif
