Hello folks,

I hope you can help, I'm learning Highway To Hell (AC/DC) I can play the chorus chords along with TabPro but when i try it along with the track I get completely lost. I'm even struggling to hear the chords in the studio track (I have an A-440 version) . Can anyone please help me along the highway?

If there is a way of showing me where the words of the chorus fit over the chords. I don't know why I'm struggling so much with this, I know the track so well.

Here are the chorus chords I'm using. I'm listening to the flute (in place of vocals in this version in TabPro) and it seems that the word "High" is on the A chord and the word "hell" is on the D5 but the rest of it doesn't seem to fit the same. My brain gets all confused, I'm sure I'm missing something so obvious unsure.gif sad.gif I'm probably over complicating it as I usually do rolleyes.gif

Thanks for taking the time to look smile.gif

This freeware might be a bit of help; http://www.voxengo.com/product/msed/

Just place the song (any song needed in the future), open the plug-in and select "mid mute". Chords are usually placed on the stereo field so might be easier to hear, worst case since the vocal will go down it might help playing over the song.

Thanks Mertay, I'll give it a try. smile.gif

UPDATE:

Thank you so much, two minutes and I'd cracked it, I reduced the side gain too, don't know what it does but it made it easier to hear. I'm not saying I can play it as well as Angus or Malcolm but I know where it fits now. It sounded like there was a lot more strumming on the studio track which is why I was struggling to hear where the strumming pattern fitted. There are only 9 strums to the pattern and then it is repeated, it sounded a whole lot more to my ears for some reason unsure.gif

Thanks again Mertay, top bloke smile.gif

I could see at Phil's mentoring thread that this software really helped him to get the right rhythm for this one. Thanks a lot Mertay! smile.gif

Cool smile.gif

Its actually more of a basic mastering type tool but also used as one of the tools to eliminate vocals, instruments in stereo mixes. Pretty much the first thing I open when wanting to analyze a mix as an engineer role but in time realized can be handy for guitar education too.
