The rhythm is good from a timing point of view but the issue is with clarity. The hard part here is nailing all those little single note lines that link the chords together. Your picking is good but it doesn't quite manage to keep an even note velocity so that all the single note licks can stand out clearly. That's my main critic with the performance. Tone - I like the tones you've chosen, both the clean and the gain. My issue is that I think you have some sort of 'double' effect on it, to give the impression of double tracking. To me, this detracts from the playing and makes it hard to focus on your main track. It also adds a different ambience to the backing track and has a strange reverb quality. I could follow how much you've been working lately in your funk rhythm technique and I have to say that this new take show really impressive results. Your playing is much tighter than the previous takes that I could see of this and the other lesson you've worked. There is more room to make it sound tighter, and also with more dynamics (talking about the rhythm parts) but this is quite close! The solo section sounds great. There's a lot opf good things to be said about your take but...I know you're here to get familiar with what's to be fixed First thing I've noticed is what Ben mentioned - a kind of double tracking, or very short reverb (ping pong type) that makes it sound like one guitar playing over another. At some point it also causes phase issues. As long as I dig both - your rhythm and lead tones, I believe this "multi-guitar" sound does no good for overall take of yours. I had a feeling like your right hand could be strumming a little wider. Unfortunately I'm not sure if the lack od solid strum for each chord is a execution thing or a tone side effect. As for the lead part there a slight lack of consistency in your picking. You have a good sense of timing and most of runs start in the proper moment, but inebetween those 16th note groups the rhythm starts to flow a little too much. Also notes that are first after string skipping, tend to loose some of the impact. Aside from above I have nothing serious to complain.
