drum / bass ?

Great! Start from a cool idea that you like a lot. It can be a lick, a melody, a chord progression, a drum groove, etc. I recommend you to use any type of Daw like Reaper and learn to use midi to program drums and bass (unless you have a bass guitar in your home).

Start building from there, arrange the idea, imagine how to continue it and think on the structure of the song. If you can't imagine a structure for the song, you can first analyse the structure of some of your favorite songs, and maybe use one as a structure template.

I can guide you with this so write me at the mentoring thread if you want me to follow the progress of your song!

Hé man.

I also wrote 2 rock songs and 1 reggae.
For me it helped to first make a chord progression i liked.
I made it for verse and bridge.
Then i made drums , made the bas and wrote the song.
Then i made the fills, and solo.
