Thought I'd share this throwback from a time when I wore my hair much longer. It is NOT a perm, believe it or not, it's just curly. I've got the full on "kentucky waterfall" as they call it smile.gif

If you have some semi embarassing hair pix, please share!!

You look like you were on your way to a Lynyrd Skynyrd performance. You probably are too young for that though, maybe it was a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band performance.

This is circa 1995, my first guitar teacher's flat.

That's not a perm either, my hair just grows like that cool.gif

This is a screen shot still from an ancient video.
Probably 1992 at a bar/restaurant/brewery in dntn Los Angeles called Gorky's. It was very cool 24-hour place that I played at every Sat. nite for almost two years. I still have that guitar and amp (which you can't see - Mesa Boogie .22 caliber).

This is from the mid 90's. We were performing (AK Raw ) at the Mat-Su Resort in Wasilla AK which is on the shore of Wasilla lake. I had just got done wakeboarding and went into the club to finish setting up the stage. My ring finger on my fret hand is wrapped in tape because I whacked my finger putting up a banner earlier that day. I bled all over my guitar that night. The show must go on!

[attachment=45816:IMG_2017...2_080043.jpg]

AK Raw: I'm on the left (Rhythm guitar and backup vocals) Brian Johnson on the right is a monster guitar player!
[attachment=45817:B_IMG_14...56613308.jpg]

Liquid Chicken: I am in the center (Lead guitar and backup vocals)

That first pic is a doozie!! That hair!! Those clothes!! If we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at ? It was the 80's after all. Ahh the 80s smile.gif When fashion lost it's mind and hair followed suit. You did mention that this was from the mid 90s though? Was that a typo? it sure looks like you were dressed for the mall circa 1984.

I'll have to dig up some more of my own pics. This is my fave thread currently running smile.gif

Hahaha! Nah I had just got done wakeboarding and I am still wearing my drysuit. I think the picture is from 93 or 94. I rented a small house at the time on the same lake, so I could actually show up for the gig in my boat. cool.gif
I was a bit crazy back then , still am I guess. biggrin.gif

That dry suit makes the perfect hair metal outfit! I'm suprised more folks didn't wear them on stage! It's like early Dokken or something smile.gif You still have it? It's very baggy, not like a "wet suit". Looks like parachute pants! Swear it would be worth a retro fortune on ebay!

That suit was probably made in the 80's! biggrin.gif (It was a Mobbys drysuit, very California at the time cool.gif ) Someone gave it to me. Probably the HO watersports rep that caught me ripping up his waterski course bouys on a waverunner one day and waved me over to his dock to chew me out so I thought. But instead got me hooked on kneeboarding, then wakeboarding and then the Airchair and Skyski. He even got me started as a rep for Hyperlight wakeboards which is part of HO watersports. I don't have the suit anymore, I passed it on to someone else. smile.gif

And a fine mullet it was! I don't know man, you may have melted in that thing under some stage lighting, or filled the suit with sweat. I think it would be like wearing a big full length coat on stage.

Good point! It looks fun but under the lights it would probably cook you alive, especially in Georgia. I usually just wore jeans and T shirt. Not exactly breaking ground, but gigging is almost like construction work imho. Lots of moving heavy things and building your rigs/drums, then wait, one hour of fun (playing/lunch at site)

So construction attire worked smile.gif
