Hey guys, I'd like to request for someone to do a lesson on Swybrid Picking which is the combination of sweep picking and hybrid picking. I'm starting to see more guys use it, but there isn't many useful lessons on it, or licks.

Hi Randy, that's a good request!

For those that don't know what he is talking about, here is Tobin Abasi talking about this:

Yeah, I've seen that which is a cool video. I've seen Tosin Abasi, Dean Lamb from Archspire, and Marshall Harrison use swybrid picking. I'd like to see more lessons and licks though if possible smile.gif Since I think it's an exciting technique.

I curious who else uses it and how smile.gif

Cause from the Tosin video it felt its derived from finger picking similar to classical guitarists, cool ofcourse but with distortion muting unwanted string vibration will probably be a problem somehow.

When I think of using a pick and fingers, first music that comes to my mind is country. I'm really not into that world of playing but until GMC offers something to work on, maybe techniqe-wise if not music that sort of lessons on the web might keep you busy (and do share what you find to your liking smile.gif )

The first time I've hear that word was from Tosin. I don't know any other guitarist using it.... Randy talked about Dean Lamb from Archspire, and Marshall Harrison, but I'm not familiar with them. Some links could be cool.

This is the vid shared by Randy:

That's impressive! It reminds me to Cacophony.
