Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I found this pretty enjoyable - with the exception of a few out-of-tune sounding notes around 00:40 - on the G string I think.

As mentioned to MisterM - what is lacking is that last bit of "really meaning it". Pro musicians can somewhat bring this up at will. But when learning - it really helps to rock away, shake your heady and body etc.

This might seem like strange advice - however I believe that pushing your body to dig and feel the music can make you nail subtle nuances - especially related to micro timing / finding the "pocket" and bending.

I hope this makes sense. You get a 6 from me - keep up the good work.

I think you have the bit learned, it just needs a bit of fine tuning and perhaps a bit more oomph!! The second vid that kris shared seemed to have more energy and fixed a couple of note issues as well. Still I can tell you have been putting in the practice so I'd go 6 as well!

Hey there!

Thanx for choosing my lesson. I'm sorry but I need to be honest (I highly belive honesty helps to improve playing the best way). What you did here is just a draft of this lesson. From o pure technical point of view there's no hard and fancy stuff to learn. The real deal here is how to operate on single notes to get a wide palette of tones and dynamics response. Unfortunately it haven't been shown in your take. I belive you are able to challenge this lesson but first you need to realize that it's the details that matter and that specific stoner/bluesy bite that not only your tone is too warm for, but also your hands articulation is a kind of too squre/ too narrow for this purpose. There's really much of work to be done. Strat would help of course but it's only a tool, while our hands are the key.

I know you had some great takes and your talented player. I hope to see some more takes of this lesson from you. Keep up rocking smile.gif
