So I sense most people are getting tired of the political discussions we have had going the last year or so -

Therefore I have decided we will take a break from such discussions. If you still feel you need to start a potentially controversial topic, you need to pm me first to get my permission.

Happy summer btw cool.gif

I wouldn't have known laugh.gif

Honestly, without hijacking this thread, I thought this summer would be about guitar playing for me, but now a weeks gone by of my 7 week summer break, and I've barely touched the guitar or felt like playing at all. Trying to conjure forth some inspiration, motivation and dedication to get going again.

Well isn't that how summer usually goes? You think you will have time to do lots of stuff and then...summer is over.

I am happy though because I am revamping my playing / practicing strategy - and because it's summer I allow myself to take things a little slower, and feel less pressure to progress fast. And when you try to tackle completely new things that's important, otherwise you can get discouraged quickly.

It's going very well, thanks! I have been pretty busy learning and playing lots of old blues tunes as well as some R&B oldies in the band I have been playing in this summer and we have been gigging fairly steadily playing mostly at outdoor festivals. I was also approached by another band at one of the festivals earlier this summer and it looks like I may be gigging with them in the club scene this coming winter playing some more modern classic and hard rock tunes. It's great to come off the couch and be back into the local music scene again. I didn't realize how much I had missed it after all these years and I am really having a great time playing out again.

I must say I fully support this decision smile.gif I'm a bit exhausted by it at this point. I feel responsible to counter certain posts in the fear that passers by get the wrong idea about GMC and what we are about. But this is a guitar site, not a political forum. There are plenty of those on the web. Back to guitar!

He's got a point! ohmy.gif) Summer is all about relaxing a bit and prepping for what's to come. Give yourself a break. You'll come back stronger smile.gif

I'd love to have you put up a solo in the Saturday Challenge! Been a while since I've seen you play. Also, the current collab with GABE could sure use a bit of RICH on it!!!
Here is the collab link
