A friend of mine is getting married in 3-4 months. He's an ok player, no speedy stuff but can solo. He asked me if I know any song he could play at the wedding.

Weddings here don't have the brides walk but is rather like a long party. We thought blues would be fun for everybody to listen. He won't have much time to reherse with the band and not very used to the stage so thats why the more simple the better. Any suggestion is welcome.

I think that the possibilities are endless. There are lots of songs by The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Credence that are easy to play and where solos are not essential. I would make the chose based on what most of the people would know in that specific party.

Come Together by The Beatles is an easy song and always welcome.

I agree with Gab, Stones, Beatles, CCR etc, all good 'sing-along' type tunes that most people will recognise.
Why not some Paul Simon or Simon and Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen, Eagles, Johnny Cash....

Unless he's marrying Petrucci's daughter, I think a sing-along will be the best solution! From what I have experience people just want to have fun rather than being impressed.

Now from playlist...I have nooo idea! Sorry. unsure.gif

Well I don't think he can sing but he could play along while the vocalist of the wedding band could sing.

Since the audience will be mostly family (and old)+ being from another culture I don't think they'll sing along to something like beatles. And blues songs that could make people clap along the tempo?
