what do you think about the new painted over ones? they look a bit like a stencil relic job.

Not really sure about the purpose on paint-overs, Fender did that with the custom-shop's 2-3 years ago and I guess sold well but they were more like graphic painted over.

Maybe they're supposed to age cooler? my first thought was this would affect the vibrancy of the guitar body a lot, one gives all the money for nitro finish, better wood etc. then kill that with extra paint doesn't make much sense to me.

yeah, Im not sure, maybe they just look awesome hanging on a dentists wall smile.gif

I like the custom shop strat that simon neil from biffy clyro uses, the faded blue over a sunburst. the relic on that one seemed better than most, it was 'only' about 3K as well. he plugs it into a boss metal zone too smile.gif the man is a legend.
