I downloaded the native plugin and made a quick vid of the first HALF of the presets (as RAMMIKIN pointed out) of the plugin with the stock impulses. It's got some cool tones and lovely cleans and wads and wads of crazy FX. I"m using the stock impulse and stock preset without changing anything. So here it is smile.gif

P.S. Not playing Jazz chords here, this is just me playing Metal Riffs per usual and running through the presets. If you want to dig in to clean tones and big chiming chords, there are wads of those vids on youtube. I wanted to hear if it would make a good KRUNCH smile.gif

Here is the second half of the presets! smile.gif

Not a huge response eh smile.gif I liked the clean tones but to be honest, the high gain tones were nowhere as convincing as my old 11 Rack. Still seems to suffer from a pinch of algorithmic fizz. I'm surefolks that own them love them, but as for plugins I'd still go or OVERLOUD TH2 or TH3 and for a rack, still have to go with the affordable 11 or maybe the headrush smile.gif On the plus side, it's got WADS of wacky fx you can stack together, way more than my 11 rack, just doesn't have the clarity on high gain tones that I was expecting from such a pricey unit. Pricey is relative of course.

I could never get something I liked out of TH2, not that I tried that much. I might try Helix Native at some point, but for now I'm probably sticking with BIAS.

Just got the Trial version. Some nice tones in there.
If I had to make one criticism it would be that I would personally prefer a GUI like GRig, Ampli or Overloud etc! That is just a very personal observation though!!

I've just got the trial of Native, it is much noisier than my actual Helix LT for some reason. A lot of hiss and stuff. I agree with Mr Jones, I would prefer virtual knobs in the GUI than sliders and maybe amp fascias like Poulin does. I'm sure they'll keep on tuning the digital fizz out though, Helix is very very popular so customer demand will force them.

Yeah, I like the Overloud TH2 and 11 Rack software interfaces for that very reason. At a glance it's not symbols, it's actual pictures that look like the amp in question and the cab, and the stomps or rack, etc.

Well, the video has half of the factory presets smile.gif. There's another bank called "Factory 2".

Something to notice is the presets have good character separation, its not like that with affordable processors.

As for the fizzness, I've read many complaints on web but this suggested me tweaking the high-cut/higher freq.s is needed. We all know stock presets on any device never did it for anyone anyway, some tweaking can make a lot of difference..

I commented the same on your YT video mate. The fact that the folder is called "Factory 1" suggests there may be at least one more tongue.gif wink.gif

I just saw this and just for you Ben I've made a bank of High Gain presets for TH2 for you to check out. I hope you still have TH2 around somewhere smile.gif Give these a shot and see what you think. Here is an audio preview of one of them.

Attached File  4Ben_TH2.xml.zip ( 3.61K ) Number of downloads: 456

(unzip the file then install the patches)

https://soundcloud.com/techniqueswithtodd/overloud-th2-demo-high-gain-amps

I"ve tried them all and only TH2/TH3 seem to be able to get this specific type of "Meshuggah"ish tone. So high gain it's almost synthetic sounding to some degree and very metallic/grinding. Mike Fortin recently got this sound out of some custom amp heads he built just for Meshuggah. No other amp he has ever built sounded like this which is a shame IMHO smile.gif

So short of spending about $3,500.00 US on a custom built Fortin, .........

Todd
