At the top of the Lettieri episode Mark mentions "Charlie Hunter".
If don't know who he is you'll def be impressed. Plays an 8 string but it's more like a guitar and bass combo. Custom made and he really approaches it as two separate instruments. Here he is with a drummer and they do the Lourde song 'Royals'.
He's been around for maybe 25 years. N. Cali guy.
