Had a holiday in Cala d'Or, Majorca last week. We had a pretty decent 2 piece Queen Tribute act one night at the hotel and on the last night, as we were walking back to the hotel for an early night ready for an early start next morning, we heard the opening notes of "Sweet Child Of Mine" coming from a side street in the pedestrian area, we made a detour and had some fun. Needless to say, we got back to the hotel much later than we should have with more beer and wine in our bellies than we should have laugh.gif

I've picked out some of the best bits for you, sometimes just the solo, sometimes just the best part and sometimes the whole thing.

The best for me is the street band, they were an inspiration to me, just what music is about, having fun and a laugh. I've since found out that the Queen tribute also perform as a four piece with more equipment but not in the hotels. I'd love to see that.

Quality is not that good, only phone cam. I did sometimes cup my hand around the mic area though which helped.

The last two are the best, if you don't watch anything else, you should watch those, good times, good friends, rock 'n' roll. That's all you need cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif cool.gif

The final part of Bohemium Rhapsody. They'd done the first part, then disappeared offstage while the operatics were done. Good way around it with two men I think.

Yeah, it is getting to the end of the season so there are fewer people but they probably played the whole season mostly to a full house.

It was good though smile.gif

biggrin.gif I meant in Spain, in the Balearic Islands, most of the the tourist areas close down at the end of October, plus that week wasn't a week where the schools have holidays. I'm just practising more than ever now that's why I'm not on the forum as much wink.gif

The Queen Tribute was outside by the hotel pool, he was actually using a little Vox practise amp that was mic'd up to the PA cool.gif I'll post some pics of his rig later on this evening cool.gif

Cheers

Since the rig is project base I can understand why not much is going on since he doesn't need tons of different sounds.

Atleast the amp is mic.ed, this makes a huge difference. Last year a friend of mine dragged me to a bar in a holiday area, tiny but super crowded. I heard the worst guitar tone in my life there, 4-5 member band playing pop/rock stuff. When looked I only saw a beginner level digitech rp processor and that was it!

I think that korg in the pedalboard is a pandora, that also has amp modeling but similar quality to the rp sound I meantioned. I bet he only used it as delay.

For the setup he had, the tone was pretty good, unmistakeable though obviously not spot on. I don't know what he had behind the Queen banner by the amp though wink.gif

UPDATE:
I've just connected with him on Facebook. I'll ask him some questions wink.gif
