Bruce was actually in RACER X with PAUL GILBERT, so maybe calling him a "Student" is a bit of a stretch, but it's still a very cool video smile.gif

I don't know how the story was. The second guitarist in Cirse was my student before getting into the band (maybe it's a similar story?) However, I'm the only guitarist in the band again since the end of 2016.

Paul has always said he feels much more comfortable using string skipping and other arrangements to play arpeggios rather than sweep picking. Of course I'm sure compared to most other humans he is probably still a monster sweep picker.

Yeah, he had a technique more oriented to Alternate Picking, combined with legato. In the recent years he is taking his technique more into legato than alternate picking. I've seen most of his recent clinics and he is economizing the use of his pick to make the runs sound smoother and less agressive.
