Ok, thanks Gab,

Here is a very very rough take, having that bit of TAB helped and also, Scott (Bleez) sent me a PM with the single note wah idea, thanks buddy, nice one.

If this sparks any ideas please let me know, I'm going to work on it. I can't do much in the middle section it's a bit tricky for me at the moment. Remember it's a very rough one-shot job.

There is some stuff over the rhythm intro and some more at 00:40.

https://soundcloud.com/gmcphil-1/bm-vi-rough-1st-take

Thanks

I'm feeling really proud of you for some reason, Phil! That was great! cool.gif

Wow, thanks everyone, glad you all like it, a big thank you to Scott for sending me the PM suggesting the wah and the single note thing.

Nice takes Scot and Joe, really looking forward to this one being finished smile.gif

Thanks Gab

To be honest I didn't think that first take was very good but now I'm trying to emulate it I'm struggling to get anything as good laugh.gif I might end up giving you a still picture Gab, so that you can use the first take, I have the guitar only parts in my DAW. I will keep trying though.

Absolutely Gab, I was kinda being tongue in cheek. I'll do my very best.smile.gif

How about this for my solo? I know I can do this again for a video, I've been building on it today. I need to get the timing better so that the last note is played as the track ends unless you're going to extend it and maybe then it won't matter.

Cheers

Hi Phil! I think that the phrasing could work but the scale is not correct. Try simliar ideas in D minor:

Thanks Gab,

You know something, it sounded strange to my ears but I was sure I played D minor pentatonic with the root on the bass E 10th fret (1st shape). That first note of the end solo sounds very flat to me, it was, or at least I thought it was the 12th fret on the D string. I even set up the intonation on that guitar after that take because it sounded so strange to me but the 12th fret notes were all slightly sharp.

I must have been having a numpty moment and got my position wrong and did trust my ears enough. I'll check again tonight.

Cheers buddy.

Gab, I'm confused,

I checked the first note of the solo with my tuner (slowed speed right down in DAW to allow it to pick up the note) and it said it was D.

I did it again tonight using this scale which is what I'm sure I used before:

https://soundcloud.com/gmcphil-1/bm-vi-end-solo-test-ii

Please tell me where I'm going wrong, I'm confused.

Thanks

That long note sounds like a Db to me... maybe your guitar was out of tune?

I always tune up mate. My tuner (Korg TM30) recognised it as a D but it does sound odd. On that last take above your post, that was a fres take, all tuned up, and D minor pentatonic with the scale pattern as shown. Could there be some weird gremlins going on?

Cheers

This could be something related to audio frecuency and convertion because I'm hearing Db in this recording.

Seems I'm walking in late to this one, I'm going to try to get something in ASAP. Have you decided on a deadline yet Gab?

Gab, I've posted some clips over in my mentoring thread to save cluttering this up with it all.

Thanks

Here's the quick 5 minute scribble of Lyric!!!
It might change slightly to get a more Ozzy type phrasing but this is what I'm working from!

A Wizard Fool.
Pt 1
Troubled times had surely come
to Mr Crowley's brain
Chasing down his sanity
like a de-railed Crazy Train

Pt 2
They thought they saw him Bark at the Moon
The Mad-man's got to be caught soon
Paranoid he stands like an Ironman
Sweetleaf leads to his escape on a Planet Caravan

Pt 3
The Children of the Sea
Lead him like a Wizard Fool
By the hand through Heaven and Hell
To the place where the Mob Rules
