Maybe this could help.

It seems the tuning may be a quarter step sharp. Go to about 27 seconds into this video.

Also this backing may be a bit better quality.

Hey Laurent. Check my edited post and the second video. It seems it may have been recorded with a tuning that is slightly sharp which would make your playing slightly flat and weird sounding. Maybe try tuning your guitar to the recording instead of using your tuner. Find the root and tune the rest of your strings the old fashioned way. smile.gif

For whatever reason, sometimes songs are recorded with a slightly altered tuning that is a micro tone away from 440. You can either tune to the song itself or try to recalibrate your tuner which may be a pain in the arse.

Here is another example of a song that was recorded with a slightly altered tuning and when you try to play along with it, the song sounds as if it is in between two different keys and our playing just sounds off. Because it is! biggrin.gif

The problem I hear is with the vocals. The poor fella is trying to sing a Chris Cornell track which is just not that easy to do. He's all over the place in terms of his vocals drifting in and out of key. As a result, it's hard to tell when the rest of the song is in key or not. I'd say find a different backing, without that singer!!

Yeah that backing sucks but it isn't the only issue. I posted a better backing above but the guitars tuning will still need to be adjusted away from A=440 or it's never going to sound right. Here is a tutorial that will explain it. Try to play along with the backing or the isolated guitar track above in standard tuning with a drop D and you will see what I mean.
Some say to calibrate your tuner so that A=435 or 432 and then tune to Drop D#

Something is very wrong. Your guitar does not sound like it's tuned to the same tuning as the backing track. Either your guitar is just out of tune to itself or out of tune to the backing. Find an open string in the backing and tune to the open string then tune your guitar to that. IT should help wink.gif

I see it stated several places that the original recording was 1/4 step sharp.
