Anybody? Anybody at all? It's a short bit. I've listened to quite a few things from other folks and I"m kinda let down that nobody would take a listen.

I never even noticed this topic smile.gif probably posted in a busy day and it fell down the new posts list.

I can't put my finger on it but first thought was maybe more compression to raw track (before mod fx) or the pick thats used is too hard.

I probably posted it in the middle of the night smile.gif Just wanted some fresh ears on it. I"m using a midi guitar and trying to see how much dynamic range I can get out of it, between soft picking and hard picking.

Actually yes smile.gif That's the every rose lick. Good ear! Just testing my midi guitar to see if I can get quiet and loud sounds out of it. Thanks!

I missed this, I haven't read anyone else's comments as I don't want to be influenced.

To me it has a metallic sound to it, like the guitar body is a tin can, obviously nowhere near as bad as a tin can but I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Some of the notes also sound a little bit veiled and muffled.

I hope this helps,

Cheers

Midi guitar ... ah, OK. Useable and resembles a steel string guitar.

In all honesty and pulling no punches, I'm glad it's a midi guitar because if that was real acoustic ... uh uh.

Funny how different minds think; jstcrns was cool, I tried to fix it, Phil66 referenced and klasaine just hated it lol! biggrin.gif

To be fair if it was in a production (drums, vocal...) and wasn't about testing dynamics you could have fooled us smile.gif

Yup smile.gif In a mix, you really can't tell. It's a 12 string, steel string acoustic sample. It's bright to cut through a mix. By itself, it's pretty easy to tell it's midi. In a mix, it just sounds sorta like a 12 string guitar smile.gif

Are you listening on laptop speakers or ear buds?

Tannoy Reveal 402 monitors and Sennheiser HD600 phones. To be honest, it isn't bad to my ears, it just sounds edgy to my ears. Through the monitors, the upper bass notes sound a little muffled, less so on the HD600s. Before I answered this, I listened again and also read the other comments, I 100% agree, in a mix it would be fine, on its own I was thinking "turn the treble down a bit" and I wouldn't know what to say do about the bass.

Hope that helps for what my ears can hear biggrin.gif
